Power Your Router
Choose a method to power your router according to your accessories.
Outdoor routers can be powered via a power adapter, a passive PoE adapter, or a PSE device (such as a PoE switch) which complies with Power Source Class 2 (PS2) or Limited Power Source (LPS) of IEC 62368-1.

Waterproof and Mount Your Router

- Connect the cables
- Detach the waterproof cover (use a screwdriver if necessary).
- Insert a nano SIM card into the slot until you hear a click.
- Fit an Ethernet cable and/or a power cord as needed for your network.
- Lead the cable(s) through the waterproof rubber and cover.
- Reattach the waterproof cover.
- Choose a method to mount the outdoor router
Notes: - For some routers, you need to install the antennas manually first.
- Ensure your outdoor router is installed upright for better waterproofing.
- The outdoor router shall be installed in the position with lightning and ESD protection.
- When selecting a mounting site, make sure the network signal LED is solid green or yellow, or shows 2 to 3 bars for better internet connectivity.
Mounting the Outdoor Router on a Pole
At the selected site, attach the device to a suitable point of the pole and then approximately align the outdoor router to the direction that you have oriented.

Mounting the Outdoor Router on the Wall (for products with mounting brackets)
Mount the mounting bracket to the preferred position in the wall. Push and slide the outdoor router to lock it into place.

Mounting the Outdoor Router on the Window (for products with mounting brackets)
Remove the double-sided tapes from the mounting bracket, and stick the bracket to the preferred position on the window. Push and slide the outdoor router to lock it into place.

- Conenct your computer to the outdoor router via an Ethernet cable or wirelessly (wireless conennction is only for wireless outdoor router).
- Enter http://tplinkmodem.net or http://192.168.254.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in the web browser, and create a password for future logins.
- Follow the step-by-step instructions of the Quick Setup page to complete the initial configuration.
Note: For wireless outdoor routers, if you have changed the default SSID and password, you have to reconnect your wireless devices to the new Wi-Fi network.
FAQ(Frequently Asked Questions)
What can I do if the login page does not appear?
- Verify that the computer is set to obtain an IP address automatically from the router.
- Verify thathttp://tplinkmodem.net is correctly entered in the web browser. Alternatively, enter http://192.168.254.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in the web browser.
- Use another web browser and try again.
- Reboot your router and try again.
- Disable and then enable the active network adapter and try again.
What can I do if I cannot access the internet?
- Verify that your SIM card is a 5G/4G or WCDMA card.
- Verify that your SIM card is in your internet service provider's service area.
- Verify that your SIM card has sufficient credit.
- Check the LAN connection:
Enter http://tplinkmodem.net orhttp://192.168.254.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in the web browser. If the login page does not appear, refer to FAQ > Q1 and then try again. - Check your ISP parameters:
- Open a web browser and log in to the web management page.
- Verify the parameters provided by your ISP are correctly entered. If not, create a new profile with the correct parameters.
- Open a web browser and log in to the web management page.
- Verify if PIN is required. If it is, enter the correct PIN provided by your ISP.
- Open a web browser and log in to the web management page.
- Verify if the total used data exceeds the total allowance. If it does, correct the total allowance and set the total used data to 0, or disable the data limit.
- Open a web browser and log in to the web management page.
- Enable the mobile data to access the internet.
- Confirm with your ISP if you are in a roaming service area. If you are, open a web browser and log into the web management page.
- Enable the data roaming to access the internet.
How to restore the router to its factory default settings?
- With the router powered on, press and hold theReset button on the rear panel of the router until the Power LED starts flashing. The router will restore and reboot automatically.
- Log in to the web management page of the router to restore the router to its factory settings.
What can I do if I forget the password of the web management page?
- Refer to FAQ>Q3 to restore the router and create a new password to log in.
What can I do if I forget my wireless network password? (for wireless outdoor routers)
- The default wireless password is printed on the product label of the router.
- If the default wireless password has been changed, log in to the router's web management page and retrieve or reset your password.
