If the overheat warning system stays activated, stop the engine. Tilt up the outboard motor and check the water intakes for obstructions. If there are no obstructions at the water intakes, return to the closest boat landing and contact your closest authorized Honda outboard motor dealer. - Page 7 Check the battery. Install the engine cover and lock the latch securely. 13. Attempt to start the engine. If the engine fails to start, remove the spark plugs, clean and dry the electrodes, then reinstall the spark plugs and attempt to start the engine again.
