    AE-MPi/13  4 INSTALLATION  Once unpacked, check that all components are in good conditions. It is important just in case of having any damage to be claimed to the forwarder, distributor, etc. 4.1 Location Install the apparatus on a stable and solid surface. Don’t install the autoclave in areas where there is danger of fire or explosion.

    It is forbidden to interrupt the ground wire, to avoid any risk due to internal defects. The plug of the autoclave is a SCHUKO with central and lateral connection in mono-phased autoclaves (AE-20-MP). For safety reasons the autoclave must be grounded. The three-phased autoclaves (AE-40-MP and AE-60-MP) have a normalized plug of 16A, 3 poles, neutral and ground.

    AE-MPi/13 WORK screen This screen appears after the LOGO screen. The main work screen. The program underway appears at the top of the screen. It is marked PX – where X is the program number. The name, temperature and sterilization time then appears. Clicking on the upper bar provides access to the PROGRAMS screen in order to quickly change the program or the work values.

Access the graphic screen to view the progress of the temperature / pressure throughout the process. A purge is performed to clean the dosing line. (Optional function for equipment with back pressure) There are 2 user information areas at the bottom of the screen.

The letter "A" may appear above this indicator if the equipment features an automatic pump which is actively filling the water tank.  Depending on the model of the equipment a red “resistor” will appear on the right of the screen indicating the heating is on.

    AE-MPi/13 START screen Accessed from the WORK screen by pressing AE-60-MP 56789 The date, description of the screen and the time are displayed at the top of the screen. The equipment model, serial number and the current user appear at the bottom of the screen.
  • Page 15 AE-MPi/13 WORK - GRAPHIC screen Accessed from the WORK screen by pressing Enables the user to view the records of the program´s temperatures and pressures. The program´s general values are displayed on the left of the screen. ---/--- appears in the mid-left of the screen, which refers to the minimum and maximum temperatures during the sterilization process.

You may access work records, the calculation of F0 values and the equipment´s different setup options.   • Page 17 AE-MPi/13 RECORDS screen This screen displays the results of the most recent operations. As illustrated on the example screens, a list of up to a maximum of 128 executed programs appears. The programs are listed by date. The columns displayed correspond to the date and time of the end of the program, the number and name (the first letters) and the result of the sterilization operation.
  • Page 18 AE-MPi/13 RECORDS-USB screen This screen displays the progress of the recording on the USB drive. In the event you access this process with no USB drive connected to the equipment, a message will appear at the top of the progress bar indicating that you need to insert such a device in order to proceed.
  • Page 19 AE-MPi/13 The summarized process data is displayed at the bottom of the screen. The value [0] indicates the index on the list of processes, followed by the date and time, the values of the sterilization process and the result. There are 4 tabs on the left of the screen. ...
  • Page 20 AE-MPi/13 Enter value = 0 In this way you will see if it is necessary or not to introduce a correction when dispensing. Go to the next screen (Nº4) and press the pedal to dose the set amount and see if there is a difference in volume.
  • Page 21 AE-MPi/13 ADJUSTMENTS screen This screen displays the user setting parameters. The different setting options on this screen are: Icon Parameter Designed to configure the language and unit of temperature of the equipment Configures the Ethernet: IP, Mask, Gateway and port parameters.

  • Page 23 AE-MPi/13 USERS screen (optional) This is an optional accessory which is factory configured. It is deactivated by default. This screen is only accessible when the USERS function is activated in the equipment´s settings parameters. N.B: In the event the USERS function is activated and you wish to work with this function, always leave the ADMINISTRATOR as the current user.

This numeric value is printed instead of identifying the user by name. The operator code will not be printed if the value 0 is entered. Once the aforementioned codes have been entered a confirmation screen will appear on which the changes made by this user should be validated.

    AE-MPi/13 PROGRAMS screen All the equipment processes are assigned to a program. These programs specify the work values and times in the different phases of the process. The program management commences on the selection screen: The programs are presented, up to a maximum of 50, in the order in which they were created.

    AE-MPi/13 5.2 Common functions Door The door of all models must always be closed in order to be able to execute a program. The “DOOR OPEN” screen will appear when this condition is not met. Program start The start of a program can be programmed. Press to execute this operation.
  • Page 29 AE-MPi/13 CORE probe (heart probe) This probe is used to measure the temperature inside the materials (normally liquids) to be sterilized. In this case this probe will provide you with the real temperature of the material, and as such, that used to regulate the entire chamber system.

    AE-MPi/13 Automatic USB back-up The records of the programs executed are stored on a limited capacity internal flash drive. It can store 128 process records. When the number of accumulated processes reaches the safe number of 126 and a USB device is connected the automatic back-up process will commence. This process will only commence when the equipment is in standby mode.
  • Page 31 AE-MPi/13 an active level 0 user, a password will not be requested to cancel a program once it has been started. The other users are entitled to execute all the features of the equipment. As such, they may create, alter and delete any program. In turn they may create and delete users (provided such users are of a lower level).

  • Page 35 AE-MPi/13 Errors and Messages The table below illustrates the different warnings/alerts which might appear on the equipment. Pressing any part of the screen will stop the acoustic beep. In order to remove a message from the screen you should turn off the main switch in process messages, or deal with the situation (such as restoring the maximum level when a lack of water is detected).

  • Page 39 AE-MPi/13 Water quality Water quality supplied for feeding the autoclave should be free of contamination and should meet the following requirements of hardness and conductivity: Hardness: ≤ 0,02 mmol/l Conductivity: between 5 µS/cm (min) and 15 µS/cm (max) Various water systems can be used such as reverse osmosis, de- mineralized, decalcified and soft distilled water*.

  • Page 41 AE-MPi/13 Close the flap until the message ‘DOOR OPEN’ disappears from the display and a distinctive beep sounds, then turn the handwheel again to ensure that the flap is closed. Select the appropriate programme. Once you have selected the programme press the key, the controller will ask the user if the stirrer is activated.
  • Page 42 AE-MPi/13 Make sure that the tube is properly fixed to a container or recipient to collect steam and it is very important to have the pump head open. If the head is closed with the tube inserted, it can generate excessive pressure with the consequent risk of burns due to the tube rupturing.

Dry the surfaces before using the autoclave again. 8.2.3 Cleaning sterilization chamber and accessories Clean the sterilization chamber, protecting tray and baskets, using a cotton cloth moistened in water.
