Audio settings
Opening the Audio Settings menu
- In a main menu (here Disc), select Settings.
- If an audio/video selection menu is displayed, select Audio.
Setting the balance/fader
- In the Audio Settings menu, select Balance/ Fader.
- To switch between Balance and Fader, press
.
The previously inactive function is now active. - To set a value:
Turn
until the desired setting is reached.
The system saves the setting automatically.
Setting the treble/mid/bass
- In the Audio Settings menu, select Treble/Mid/ Bass . The Treble/Mid/Bass menu is displayed in the content area.
- Activating a scale: Press

until the desired scale is active. - To set a value: Turn
until the desired setting is reached. The indicator moves accordingly on the scale, showing you the setting.

Setting the equalizer
- In the Audio Settings menu, select EQ Presets .
In the content area, the Equalizer menu is displayed. - To activate a preset: Select the desired preset.
The Equalizer menu is automatically closed after a short time.
Switching surround on/off

Depending on the previous status, the function will be switched on or off.

HD Radio (TM) information

The Driver Information System is able to receive standard analog FM/AM radio broadcasting as well as digital HD Radio TM FM/AM broadcasting.
HD Radio TM is a technology to carry digital broadcasting as well as analog one using existing FM and AM broadcasting frequencies
HD Radio TM is available in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.

The frequency increases or decreases, depending on the direction of rotation. - To search: Push

The seek proceeds upwards or downwards and stops at the next receivable station.

Connecting an iPod ®
- Connect an iPod ®.
Playback will start with the first track in the "Songs" category.
Connecting an USB
- Connect an USB memory stick containing audio files.
Open the AUX main menu and, if necessary, select the USB stick as the signal source.
Starting playback.
Connecting an AUX source
- Connect an AUX (audio/ video) signal source.
- If necessary, select the desired signal source in the AUX main menu.
- Start playback on the AUX signal source.

Phone
Pairing a mobile phone
A precondition for pairing and connecting is that Bluetooth® is activated on the mobile phone.
- Press
until the Phone main menu appears. - Select Connect Phone.
The device list appears. Select Pair Phone.
The Bluetooth® name of the Driver Information System is GENESIS, it is displayed under this name on the mobile phone. - Start pairing on the mobile phone. When prompted, enter the passkey "1234".
The system will start the process of connecting with the mobile phone.

Connecting a mobile phone
After the system is switched on, it automatically attempts to reconnect with the last mobile phone connected. The following conditions must be met for this:
- The mobile phone is switched on and is within the reception range of the system.
- The mobile phone is still paired with the system.
- Bluetooth® is activated on the mobile phone.
- In the Settings menu, Bluetooth Autoconnect is activated =

Using call lists
- In the Phone main menu, select one of Missed Calls Received Calls or Dialed Numbers .

Accepting/rejecting an incoming call
The call menu is displayed when there is a call incoming.
- Select Accept or Reject .
When you accept the call you conduct it over the hands-free unit.
Ending a call
In the call menu, select END

Calling up the phonebook
- In the Phone main menu, select Phone Book .
The phonebook appears.
The following functions are now available:
- Creating a new entry

Entering destinations
Entering a destination via the address and street number
- In the Navigation main menu, select Destination .
A selection list appears. - Select Address .
The address input menu appears. Enter now all address categories (state, street, city, etc.) successively. - To enter a character: In the predictive speller, highlight a character and press

The character is entered and appears in the input field. - To delete characters: Select

. - To complete an entry: If OK is highlighted, press
. - If prompted, select an entry in the hit list

Entering a POI destination 1
The following example selects a POI destination via a vicinity search.

Entering a POI destination 2
The following example enters a destination via POI name.
- In the Navigation main menu, select Destination
A selection list appears. - In the selection list, select Point of Interest .

and select State/Province . - Enter a state/province as with entering an address.
- Enter a POI name and push
to complete it.

Entering the destination via the destination memory
- In the Navigation main menu, select Destination .
- Select Address Book .
The Address Book appears. - Select one of the following destination memory categories:
- Home , Work , Favourite Point 1 , Favourite Point 2 Favourite Point 3 , Favorite Point 4
- Address List
If a category does not yet contain at least 1 destination, then that respective category cannot be selected.
- Select a list entry.

The crosshairs disappear. The map is automatically set to the current vehicle position and is in position mode.

General information
Operating language
The voice control system can be operated in English language no matter, which system language is set in the System settings.
Help function (teleprompter)
The help function comprises an acoustic help component and a visual help component, also called teleprompter. The help function can be activated at any time using the command "Help", or it is automatically activated as soon as the system does not receive a proper a voice input

Example FM/AM
Calling the FM or AM tuner
- Press
on the steering wheel and say " Radio on after the signal tone.
The FM or AM main menu appears on the display. The last selected station is played.
Tuner mode help
- Calling the tuner mode help: Press
on the steering wheel and say " Radio commands " after the signal tone.
The teleprompter is opened. You hear all the commands available for FM, AM or XM ® tuner mode.

Phone commands can be used only while a Bluetooth ® mobile phone is connected to the system

Operating picklists
The voice control system can display picklists to you on the screen, for example the channel list in the XM® tuner mode.
Scrolling through a picklist
You can scroll through any picklist using the commands
"Next page", "Previous page", "Back", "First Page" or "Last Page".

Within picklists, you have the following two options for selecting an entry:

Switching the rear camera view on
- Switch the gear in the position of R.
The display of the Driver Information System will switch to the rear camera view.
Switching the camera view off
- Switch the gear to any position except of R.
The display will return to the normal view.
