CLEANING THE MILK SYSTEM

To ensure that the milk system in the dual spout always works properly, you must clean it daily when you have been preparing milk-based coffees.

Add 10 ml of milk system cleaner to the rear part of the container (If you are using granules, turn the bottle upside down and press once, let it dissolve before starting the cleaning).
Press the 'Program' button, place the container under the dual spout.
Remove the milk pipe from the milk container and connect the milk pipe to the container for milk system cleaning.
Press the 'Clean the milk system' button, press "Start", press "Next", "Next" and "Next".
The cleaning starts, water flows through the coffee and milk spout.
The operation stops automatically and the X8 is once more ready for use.

DISMANTLING AND CLEANING/RINSING THE DUAL SPOUT

The dual spout must be dismantled and rinse daily if milk has been prepared to make sure it functions perfectly and in the interests of hygiene procedures.

Remove the milk pipe and rinse thoroughly under water
Pull the cover of the dual spout forward and off

Remove the milk system from the dual spout – as seen on the picture

Dismantle the milk system into individual spout, rinse all parts under running water (scrap the dried-on milk residue)

Reassemble the milk system, fit it back in the dual spout, press firmly
Fit the cover on the dual spout and connect the milk pipe

CHANGING THE FILTER

Remove and empty the water tank, open the filter holder, remove the Pro Smart filter cartridge.
Insert the filter cartridge into the water tank, exerting slight pressure, close the filter holder.
Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water and reinsert the tank, water flows directly into the drip tray, empty the drip tray, put them back into the machine.

CLEANING THE MACHINE

After 180 preparations or 80 switch-on rinses, the X8 will prompt you to clean it.

Press the 'Program' button then press on 'Clean', press the 'Start' button and press the 'Next'.
Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container and put them back into the machine.
Place a receptacle under the dual spout and press the 'Next'.
Water flows out of the dual spout then the operation is interrupted.
When prompted, open the cover behind the bean container, insert one JURA cleaning tablet into the filler funnel.
Close the cover, Press the 'Next' button.
The operation will stop automatically, empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container, and put them back into the machine, cleaning is now complete

DESCALING THE MACHINE

Press the 'Program' button then press on 'Descale', press the 'Start' button and press the 'Next' button.
Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container and put them back into the machine.
Completely dissolve 3 JURA descaling tablets in a receptacle holding 20 oz (600 ml) of water it may take several minutes.
Remove the filter, empty the water tank, pour the solution into the empty water tank, insert it into the machine.
Place one receptacle under the dual spout and another under the hot-water spout, press 'Next' button.
Water flows repeatedly out of the dual spout and the hot-water spout.
When the operation is interrupted, empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container and put them back into the machine.
Remove the water tank and rinse it thoroughly, fill the water tank with fresh, cold water and reinsert the tank.
Place one receptacle under the dual spout and another under the hot-water spout, press the 'Next' button, the descaling operation is continued.
When the operation stops, empty the drip tray, place it back - descaling is now complete.
