Safety
Foreword
• This manual provides rules and guidelines that will
help you use the switchgear safely. The precautions
in this instruction manual must be followed at all
times during installation, operation and
maintenance. Most accidents are caused by the
failure to follow fundamental safety rules when
installing, operating and maintaining equipment;
accidents can be prevented by knowing beforehand
what may cause hazards.
• BEFORE working on the switchgear, you must set it
to safety mode.
• BEFORE working on the switchgear, the site
manager or the operator must carry out an overall
assessment of the safety conditions. The
preventive safety measures included in this
manual do not take the specific on-site risk
assessment into consideration.
• This manual is neither a safety plan, nor a safety
procedure, nor a safety risk assessment for the
installation, operation and maintenance of this
product. It does not substitute documents required
by local law, nor any other applicable safety
requirements.
• ABB is not liable for any site safety risk assessment,
nor for faulty work done on the switchgear due to
an incorrect safety evaluation.
• You must ensure that only SKILLED PERSONNEL do
installation, operation and maintenance work on
this equipment.
• Safety measures will not be effective if the product
has been manipulated (modified outside ABB's
control).
For your safety
• Strictly follow this instruction manual.
• Only install switchgear in indoor conditions suitable
for electrical equipment.

utility and the applicable work safety regulations.
• Follow the relevant instructions in the manual for all
work involving the switchgear.

use the circuit breaker.
Personnel
• All installation, commissioning, operation and
maintenance must be carried out by skilled
personnel with in-depth knowledge of the
equipment.
