    Operating Principals Freeze drying is the process of removing water and/or solvents from frozen samples. During the process, the sample is in a solid state below freezing. Generally lower than -10°C. Over time, the sample will be heated very slowly while still frozen. The solid water will convert directly to a gas. This is the process of sublimation.

    Never use extension cords, power strips, or plug adapters other than what is supplied with the unit. • If the mains supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, USA Lab, or a similarly qualified and skilled person to avoid hazard or injury.

Preheat Time. – The time allowed to heat the shelves before the run begins. Dry Temp. – During the run ramp up to temperature needed for freeze drying. Dry Time.

  • Page 13 Expert (Advanced Control) Notes: Up to 12 steps can be manually adjusted for complete control over the unit’s behavior. Vacuum pump activation should not be adjusted unless you require more pre-cooling stages. Pre-freeze your items for best results and a quicker run time. Drying temperature will be increased over time based on the dry time.

    Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or tools to clean the delicate coating of your cabinet. Always wipe dry after cleaning. USA Lab or a qualified technician must carry out any repair if required. Using an air compressor, blow out the condenser and lower cabinet. Monthly if used in a high dust environment.
