    SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: Know your controls. Read the operator manual carefully. learn how to stop the engine quickly in any emergency. Do not allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the mower. Do not carry passengers. Make sure the area to be cut is clear of sticks, stones, bones, wire and debris. The blades could throw them.

    SPECIFICATIONS: Engine: Briggs & Stratton Vanguard 18 hp V-twin Model 350777. Transaxle: Eaton twin hydrostatic transaxle Series 781. Instant variable speed forwards and reverse. Cutting Head: Fabricated steel cutting deck, 3mm gauge with triple rotors. Width of cut: 1370mm. Height of cutting positions: 25mm-100mm, 7 positions Tyres: Front 13-500-6.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: IMPORTANT: BEFORE STARTING: Operator must be seated. Blades must be disengaged, refer cutter clutch switch (fig.1). Transaxle lever must be in the "OFF" position, refer (fig.1) ENGINE OPERATION: To start engine when cold place choke lever in "ON" position. (Choke not required when engine has been running and is hot).
  • Page 5 TRANSAXLE MAINTENANCE: Eaton Series 781 hydrostatic transaxle. Pre-start check: Check around the transaxle assembly, expansion tanks or and hoses for any external leaks. Check oil level in expansion tanks. ( These tanks are not reservoirs ). There should be a maximum of 10mm of oil in the tanks when cold to allow for expansion of oil when the transaxle has been working and the oil becomes hot.

    MAINTENANCE: ENGINE: Refer engine manufacturers owners manual. PARK BRAKE: fig.3 Adjust park brake by turning nylon lock nut clockwise on the horizontal brake rod. Brake should hold mower on thirty degrees slop. There should be no drag on the transaxle when using the mower with the engine going.

    CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT: Fig.5 The cutter drive clutch and brake must be adjusted every 100 hours due to normal wear of friction surfaces. Stop the engine and remove ignition key. Set the cutter deck height to midway. Remove back plate from chassis. The clutch has three tension springs and adjusting nuts (A), which need to be adjusted together.

    BELT REPLACEMENT: Warning! Before replacing any belts, turn engine off and remove ignition key. Main spindle belt. (Fig. 6) Remove back plate from chassis. Loosen four engine mount bolts and move engine forward. Loosen nut (B) and tighten nut (A), remove belt from main spindle pulley and then engine pulley and remove transaxle belt.

    WARRANTY POLICY: MOWER H. F. DEUTSCHER PTY. LTD. Will warrant the repair or replacement, free of charge, any parts of the mower, that are defective in materials or workmanship or both for a period of: 12 months from the date of purchase.
