Installing the Cooling Shroud

CAUTION:
You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in
your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service
and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not
covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came
with the product.
1 Align and press the cooling shroud down on the system board.
See Figure 3-7.
2 Replace the system-board assembly. See "Installing a System-Board
Assembly" on page 62.
3 Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and turn on the system,
including any attached peripherals.

Removing the Heat Sink

CAUTION:

1 Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect
the system from its electrical outlet.
2 Remove the system-board assembly. See "Removing a System-Board
Assembly" on page 61.
3 Remove the cooling shroud. See "Removing the Cooling Shroud" on
page 63.
WARNING:
