Required Parts/Tools
The following troubleshooting steps will resolve most M/Connect 3 Pro Dock technical issues. If the M/Connect still does not function after all
steps are taken, please send the following items to
1.
A copy of this document with the result of each step entered in the "Result" column.
2.

Troubleshooting Step
1. Disconnect the laptop from the unit and restart the
M/Connect.
The power button for the docking station is located on the left-
hand side of the component of the M/Connect above the desk.
2. Confirm the light on the component above the desk is on.
If the light is not on, confirm the M/Connect is properly
plugged into a power source and the power cable is inserted in
the power jack on the unit below the desk.
3. Confirm the light on the component below the desk is on
and colored white.
If the light is not on, the cable is not seated properly and the
dock will not work. Reseat the bridge cable connecting the
top and bottom components until the light is on and is colored
white.
4. Connect the laptop to the M/Connect unit using the
upstream cable.
The white light on the component below the desk should turn
blue confirming all connections are complete. The blue light
above the desk should dim when the laptop is connected. If the
light does not turn blue, confirm the cable is seated properly.
5. If laptop screens do not display after taking all steps above:
a.
Confirm the laptop has both of the following, which are required for the dock to work:
• Thunderbolt 3 / 4 or USB4
• Built-in DP AltMode capability
b.
Check the following connections/settings on your laptop:
• Display Cables connecting dock to monitors: Ensure DisplayPort cables are connected to input, not
output, on the back of the monitors.
• Display Settings: Confirm the settings are set to Extend display, not Mirror display.
• Monitor Settings: Confirm the correct input is selected (ensure it matches to the cable connected to
the back of the screen, or is set to Auto Detect).
