Camera Installation

Installation Preparation

 Installation Preparation - Step 1
 Installation Preparation - Step 2

  1. Surface Selection: Choose a clean, smooth, and dry surface for mounting the bracket. Avoid uneven surfaces like wood veneer or plaster walls.
  2. Bracket Mounting: Use the provided positioning stickers and screws to securely attach the bracket to the wall.

NOTE:

  • Avoid Strong Lights: Avoid facing the camera toward strong lights, mirrors, windows, or swimming pools.
  • Minimize Interference: Keep the camera away from outlets, air conditioner vents, humidifiers, and heat vents.
  • Maintain Distance: Position the camera at least 1 meter away from other wireless devices (e.g., microwaves, Wi-Fi routers) to prevent interference.

Mounting Position and Angle

Mounting Position and Angle - Step 1

  1. Location:
Ensure the camera's view is unobstructed and the app shows that the camera is receiving a strong Wi-Fi signal.
  2. Mounting:
    • Select an appropriate position on the wall to mount the camera.
    • Place it directly on the table.
  3. Angle for Motion Detection:
    • Aim the camera to cover the lower two-thirds of the field of view, which is the most sensitive to motion.
    • For close monitoring (e.g., front door), mount the camera 7-10 feet (2-3 meters) high. This helps to focus on closer objects and reduce false alerts from distant movement.
    • For distant monitoring (e.g., yard), mount the camera higher to cover the area within the lower two-thirds of the view.
Mounting Position and Angle - Step 2

Best Practices for Motion Detection

Best Practices for Motion Detection

  • Motion Path: Position the camera so that motion moves side-to-side across its view rather than directly toward or away from it.
  • Detection Range: Optimal motion detection occurs within 5 to 20 feet (1.5 to 6 meters) from the camera, though it can detect motion up to 33 feet (10 meters).

Solar Panel Installation

Installation Steps

  1. Use Power Drill and two screws to fix the camera bracket on the wall. Align the screw cap of the bracket with the screw hole on the back of the solar panel and rotate it clockwise to fix it.
  2. Adjust the angle of the solar panel according to the actual environment, and ensure that the front of the panel is facing up (45° angle is the best inclination angle).
  3. Unplug the rubber plug on the surface of the camera charging port, insert the solar panel charging head through the hole on the rubber plug, and then insert it into the camera charging port correctly.
  4. For better waterproof performance, please cover the charging port completely with the rubber plug.

Installation Location

  • Find a location that receives sunlight for most of the day to ensure maximum exposure.
  • The solar panel needs a few hours of direct sunlight to convert solar energy into electricity. The conversion efficiency is affected by weather conditions, seasonal changes, geographic locations, etc.

Installation Angle

Installation Angle

  • Ensure the solar panel is angled to receive direct sunlight.
  • Avoid installing the solar panel completely horizontally to prevent the accumulation of dust and debris. It is advised to install the solar panel at an angle for optimal sunlight exposure.

Installation Precautions

  • Ensure there is no obstruction blocking the solar panel. The energy harvesting efficiency drops significantly even if a small portion of the solar panel is blocked.
  • Wipe the solar panel regularly to remove dust and debris.

Power Saving Settings

Motion Detection Frequency

This feature helps prevent multiple alarms for the same event. You can customize the motion detection frequency by setting different intervals. For instance, if the frequency is set to 30 seconds, and the camera is triggered at 8:00 AM, you'll receive an alarm notification but won't get another one within the next 30 seconds, even if motion persists.
NOTE: This function is off by default. You can enable it as needed.

Recording Time

You can set different recording lengths. For example, if the recording length is set to 10 seconds, after the camera is triggered, you can view a 10-second alarm video in the history of cloud playback.
Recording Time

Detection Schedule

You can set a weekly or daily alarm schedule as needed. For example, if the camera's working hours are set from 0:00 to 1:00, the camera will only be triggered and record alarm video during this period.

Battery Management

  1. The camera has a built-in high-capacity battery, which can last for 2-3 months, assuming the camera wakes up 15 times per day and records video for 10 minutes each day.
NOTE: Battery life depends on how frequently the camera is activated. The more it is activated, the faster the battery drains.
  2. When the battery power is less than 20%, the app will send you reminders to charge the camera.
  3. Charge the camera with a DC 5V 2A charger until it is fully charged, which typically takes 6-8 hours.
  4. Power mode: Select the working mode of the device that suits you to meet your usage scenarios and needs. If a feature is consuming more power, you can click to adjust its settings to reduce battery usage.

Custom Non-Detection Area

You can masking off unnecessary detection areas, such as distant roads and frequently blown tree branches, to reduce false alarms.

The device support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks. At the same time, please set the Wi-Fi authentication method to WPA2-PSK or other lower-level security methods, and need to set a password.

How far should the camera be from the router?

After testing, the Wi-Fi connection distance can reach 150 meters in an open area. But the actual situation depends on the strength of the Wi-Fi and its surroundings(thick walls, electromagnetic devices, large metal objects can all cause interference to the Wi-Fi signal).
If the camera connection is weak or unstable, place the camera as close to the router as possible.

What should I do if the equipment fails?

  4. If QR configuration is unsuccessful, try to use the AP network configuration(the mobile phone can be automatically added after connecting to the Wi-Fi hotspot issued by the camera and returning to the App) the password should not be set as complicated as possible, and it does not contain special characters.
  5. If the two methods are still unable to connect to the Internet, it is recommended to restart the router and try again.
  6. Provide the nameplate label of the router.

TF Card not recognized?

After inserting the TF Card into the TF Card slot of the camera, check whether the capacity of the TF Card is displayed in the "System Settings". "TF Card Recording Settings" of the device in the APP. If it prompts "No TF Card detected", it means that the TF Card recognition failed.

  1. Please use brand TF Card, Only FAT32 format is supported.
  2. The TF Card can be recognized by the computer normally.
  3. The recommended TF Card capacity is between 16-256G.
  4. Recommend to use a high-speed TF Card of Class 10 and above.
  5. Try to insert and remove the TF Card several times.
