GETTING TO KNOW YOUR BLENDER

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

  1. Carefully unpack the Rocket Blender Set and remove all packaging materials. Check the contents to ensure that all parts and accessories are present, and have been received in good condition.
  2. Handle the blending blade attachment by its collar only.

    Do not touch blades. Blade attachments are very sharp. Use extreme care when handling. Failure to do so can result in personal injury.
  3. Wash all lids in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  4. Clean each cup before first use. Fill cup one-quarter full with clean, warm water. Following the steps outlined in the Operating Instructions. Rinse thoroughly.
  5. The motor base may be wiped with a damp cloth.


DO NOT IMMERSE THE MOTOR BASE IN WATER.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Place the motor base on a flat, clean, dry countertop or table.
  2. Make sure the unit is unplugged.
  3. The blender comes with two processing cups. Place the food to be processed into the desired cup.
  4. To assemble for blending, using the blade's collar to handle, place the blade collar into the cup.

    In the base of the blade's collar, there is a plastic gasket seal that creates an airtight fit with the cups After dishwashing and before each use, always check to make sure the gasket is properly in place, as the heat from some dishwashers may cause the gasket to become loose.

    Never operate the blender when the cup is empty.

    Never overfill the cup. Do not exceed the MAX line.
  5. Hold the cup firmly in one hand. Use the other hand to tighten the cup/blade assembly by turning the blade collar clockwise until snug. (Figure 2)
  6. Plug the power cord into a 120V AC electrical outlet.
  7. Invert the processing cup/blade assembly. Insert the blade collar into the motor base, making sure the arrow icon (▼) on the blade collar is aligned with the arrow icon OFF on the motor housing.(Figure 3)
  8. To process, turn the processing cup clockwise into the motor base until the arrow icon (▼) on the blade collar is aligned with the arrow icon ON on the motor housing (Figure 4).

    To stop, turn the processing cup counterclockwise until the arrow icon (▼) on the blade collar is aligned with the OFF position. Release the cup.
    warning NOTE: When the blender is used for the first time, it is not uncommon for it to emit a slight odor. This is normal and should disappear with use.
  9. When processing is completed, turn the blade collar until the arrow icon (▼) is aligned with the OFF position and lift to remove the cup/ blade assembly.
  10. Invert the cup/blade assembly. Hold the cup firmly in one hand. Use the other hand to turn the blade collar counter-clockwise and remove the blade from the processing cup.
  11. Add the To-Go lid to the cup to enjoy your drinks on-the-go.
  12. Add the Storage lid to the cup to keep your drinks in the refrigerator and enjoy at a later time.
  13. Unplug the blender when not in use and before cleaning.

FOOD PROCESSING HINTS


Do not operate the motor continuously for more than 1 minute at a time. Allow motor to rest for 3 minutes before continuing.

  • For best results, solid foods should not be larger than 1-inch pieces. Cut or tear food into pieces approximately equal in size before processing.

USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user-serviceable parts. Any servicing requiring disassembly other than cleaning must be performed by a qualified appliance repair technician.

CARE & CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS


Never immerse the motor base, plug or cord in water or any other liquid.

  1. Always unplug the Rocket Blender before cleaning.
  2. Whenever possible, rinse parts immediately after processing to make cleanup easier.
  3. Always handle blades using the blade collar.

    Use extreme care when handling blades. Do not touch the blades with your fingers. The blades are very sharp and can cause injury if touched.
  4. If necessary, use any small nylon bristle brush to remove processed food from the blade and the blade area.
  5. For quick clean-ups, fill processing cup one quarter full with clean, warm water. Following the steps outlined in the Operating Instructions. Rinse thoroughly.
  6. Wash all lids in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

    Never use rough scouring pads or abrasive cleansers on any plastic or metal parts as the surface may be damaged.
  7. Processing blade, processing cups and lids are all top-rack dishwasher safe.

    After dishwashing, always check to make sure the gasket seal in the base of the blade collar is properly in place, as the heat from some dishwashers may cause them to become loose.
  8. The motor base may be wiped with a damp cloth or sponge. Dry thoroughly.

    DO NOT IMMERSE THE MOTOR BASE IN WATER.

STORING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Unplug and clean unit.
  2. Store in original box or in a clean, dry place.
  3. Never store Rocket Blender while it is hot or plugged in.
  4. Never wrap cord tightly around the appliance. Never place any stress on cord, especially where the cord enters the unit, as this could cause the cord to fray and break.
  5. Cord can be wrapped around the cord storage base for convenient storage. (Figure 5)

    Make sure to unroll cord from base cord storage before plugging it on the outlet.
  6. The To-go lid can be stored on top of the storage lid. The two blending cups can be stored on top of each other for maximum convenience. (Figure 6)

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:

  1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
  2. To protect against risk of electrical shock do not put cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
  3. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are closely supervised and instructed concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  4. Turn the appliance OFF, then unplug from the outlet when not in use, before assembling or disassembling parts and before cleaning. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
  5. Avoid contacting moving parts. Do not attempt to defeat any safety interlock mechanisms.
  6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Bring it to a qualified technician for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
  7. The use of attachments, including canning jars, cups or covers not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause a risk of injury to persons.
  8. The blender is not intended for use in the microwave. Do not place the cups, motor base or accessories in the microwave as this may result in damage to the appliance.
  9. Do not use outdoors.
  10. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
  11. Do not let cord contact hot surfaces, including the stove.
  12. Blades are sharp. Handle carefully. Use the blade's collar to handle.
  13. Risk of thermal burn injury due to excessive pressure in the container. Do not blend hot liquids.
  14. Always completely assemble the blade and cup before placing on the motor base. AVOID CONTACT WITH MOVING PARTS.
  15. Keep hands and utensils out of container while blending to reduce the risk of severe injury to persons or damage to the blender. A scraper may be used but must be used only when the blender is not running.
  16. To reduce the risk of injury, never place blade collar on base without jar properly attached.

ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

  1. All users of this appliance must read and understand this instruction guide before operating or cleaning this appliance.
  2. The power cord in this appliance should be plugged into a 120 V AC electrical outlet only.
  3. If this appliance begins to malfunction during use, immediately remove the cup/blade assembly from the motor housing and unplug the cord. Do not use or attempt to repair the malfunctioning appliance.
  4. If this appliance falls or accidentally becomes immersed in water, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water!
  5. Do not use this appliance after it has fallen into or becomes immersed in water.
  6. To reduce the risk of injury to persons or property, never use this appliance in an unstable position.
  7. Do not use this appliance for other than its intended use.
  8. Do not use if cup is cracked or chipped.

  9. This product is not an ice crusher. Always make sure to add at least one cup liquid to the processing cup before adding ice or foods that are frozen solid. Do not overfill. Failure to add enough liquid before processing may cause the processing cup to break or chip.

NOTES ON THE PLUG

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.

NOTES ON THE CORD

  1. A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
  2. Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
  3. If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
    1. The marked electrical rating of the cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
    2. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type3-wire cord.
    3. The longer cord should be arranged so that it does not drape over the countertop or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

PLASTICIZER WARNING


To prevent Plasticizers from migrating from the finish of the counter top or table top or other furniture, place NON-PLASTIC coasters or place mats between the appliance and the finish of the counter top or table top. Failure to do so may cause the finish to darken; permanent blemishes may occur or stains can appear.

ELECTRIC POWER

If the electrical circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your appliance may not operate properly. It should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other appliances.
