General Information WARNING • Follow the procedures exactly as stated in this manual, and heed all DANGER, WARNING, and CAUTION statements in this manual as well as those on the vehicle. • Do not leave children unattended on vehicle. • Prior to leaving the vehicle unattended or servicing the vehicle, set the park brake, place the Forward/Reverse handle in the NEUTRAL position, turn the key switch to the OFF position, and remove the key. -

Controls and Indicators KEY SWITCH The key switch is mounted on the instrument panel to the right of the steering column (Figure 4). Each vehicle is equipped with either a two-position key switch or a three-position key switch. Vehicles equipped with a two-position key switch are referred to as “pedal-start”... -

Controls and Indicators • Pedal-start vehicle: The engine will not run when the handle is in the NEUTRAL position. • Key-start vehicle: The engine will idle and rev while in the NEUTRAL position. See preceding WARNING and CAUTION. Club Car vehicles operate at a reduced speed in reverse. The reverse buzzer will sound as a warning when the Forward/Reverse handle is in the REVERSE position. -

Lockout Cam • Pedal-start vehicle: When the key switch is in the ON position, and the Forward/Reverse handle or switch is in either the FORWARD or REVERSE position, pressing the accelerator pedal will automatically release the park brake and start the vehicle moving in the direction selected (forward or reverse). When the accelerator is released, power will be cut off and the motor or engine will stop running. -

Seat Latch and Adjustment Figure 13 Low Oil Warning Light FUEL GAUGE/HOUR METER A fuel gauge and hour meter are housed together at the lower left corner of the instrument panel. The fuel gauge operates when the key switch is in the ON position, and allows the operator to monitor the fuel level in the vehicle. The hour meter operates only when the engine is running, and should be used only by trained technicians to track vehicle usage and determine when periodic service procedures are required. -

Pre-Operation and Daily Safety Checklist The bucket seats on all vehicles are adjustable and can be moved forward or backward to accommodate the driver or passenger. To adjust a seat: Remove the seat from the vehicle. Remove the four bolts and washers from the bottom of the seat mounting plate. Align the mounting plate holes with holes in the seat to achieve the desired seat position. -

Storage CAUTION • Batteries in a low state of charge will freeze at low temperatures. PREPARING THE VEHICLE FOR EXTENDED STORAGE Unload the vehicle so that tires are supporting only the weight of the vehicle. Store vehicle in a cool, dry place. This will minimize battery self-discharge. If the battery appears to be weak, have it charged by a trained technician. -

Engine Oil ENGINE OIL Even though the low oil warning light on the instrument panel should illuminate if oil becomes low, the engine oil level should be checked monthly. The vehicle should be on a level surface when checking oil. Do not overfill with oil. ENGINE OIL LEVEL CHECK Remove the oil level dipstick from the oil filler tube and wipe oil from dipstick. - Page 42 Engine Oil Access the engine compartment. Cleaning the Vehicle Be sure battery hold-down clamp is properly tightened. Tighten to 144 in-Ib (16 N·m). A loose clamp may allow the battery to become damaged from vibration or jarring.
