Overview

Pairing
Make sure that only the
two devices to be paired
are switched on. All other
Bluetooth-compatible devices
(e.g. navigation devices, mobile
phones, MP3 players etc.) in
the vicinity must be OFF or
their Bluetooth function must
be deactivated.
Delete existing pairing inform-
ation stored in the audio sys-
z
tem's memory.

tion system's memory.
In order to ensure correct oper-
ability, always start with pairing
to the audio system, before
pairing other devices (such as a
mobile phone, for instance) to
the communication system.
If two BMW Motorrad com-
munication systems (rider and
passenger) are to be paired to
the audio system, both com-
munication systems must be
compliant with the Bluetooth
2.0 standard. Start by pairing
the communication systems
with the audio system, then
pair the two helmets.
Only one music source can
be paired to a BMW Motorrad
communication system - in this
case the music source is the
audio system. If, for example,
an MP3 player is to be used
as a music source, it has to be
connected to the audio system
by means of the jack.
If the rider's and passenger's
communication systems are
paired to each other but not
to the audio system, playback
from the audio system is via
the speakers. In this case there
is a possibility of audio distor-
tion affecting communication
between rider and passenger.
Other-make communication sys-
tems can be paired to the audio
system if they support the A2DP
profile. However, BMW Motor-
rad cannot guarantee that such
other-make systems will function
correctly.
Invariably, only one other-make
communication system can be
paired to the audio system. Pair-
ing to a second helmet is not
supported even in the case of
systems that are complaint with
the Bluetooth 2.0 standard.
