Do not overload! Use the product only for the powers it was designed for. The product designed for a given purpose performs it better and safer than one that has a similar function. Therefore, always use the correct one for a given purpose. Please keep in mind that our products are not designed for commercial, trade or industrial use according to their intended purpose.
DEVICE-SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS C Know your tool. Read owner’s manual carefully. Learn its applications and limitations as well as the specific potential hazards related to this tool. Familiarise yourself with the controls on the machine and how to use them. WARNING! Petrol is highly flammable.
• Inspect that all nuts, bolts and brush rollers are tight and well connected to ensure the safety and reliability of this unit prior to any operation. • Adjust the brush to proper height prior to any operation. • If the unit strikes a foreign object or starts to vibrate abnormally, stop the engine and check immediately for the cause (this is very important!) •...
CAUTION! A running engines generates heat. Parts of the engine and silencer become extremely hot during operation. After touching they may cause serious burns. If it is close to any flammable materials, e.g. leaves, grass, shrubbery etc., it may catch fire. •...
immediately with clean water. With larger contact or burns, or eye contact, seek medical attention as soon as possible. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERY CHARGER (ONLY MODELS WITH BATTERY STARTER) CAUTION! Do not start up the engine while the battery is charging. Risk of electric shock.
• When working don’t overreach. Always stand firmly and with good balance, then if you get into unexpected situation, you will have better control of the machine. • Always keep body parts and clothing away from rotating or hot parts of the machine. Don’t touch the machine and try to stop it, if any component still rotates.
• Dangers caused by unexpected starting, unexpected exceeding of engine revs caused by defect/failure of control system, relate to the defects by the handle and placing of drivers. • Dangers caused by impossibility to stop the machine in best conditions, relate to solidity of the handle and placing of engine shut down device.
• To extinguish the fire, use suitable fire extinguisher (snow, powder, halotron). • DO NOT PANIC. Panic can cause even more damage. UNPACKING • Carefully remove the product from the box. • Carefully inspect all parts. If any part is damaged or missing, contact your dealer or authorized service center.
Air cleaner (if equipped). Total control: Make sure there are no leaks, find loose or damaged parts. Check the equipment powered engine. WARNING! Before starting the engine, remove all potential problems identified or ask your service technician to do it. Improper engine maintenance or failure to repair the identified defects before starting the engine can cause engine failure which may lead to your serious injury or death.
For general use all year round, we recommend SAE 10W-30 HECHT 4T. For general use in winter it is recommended to use SAE 5W-40, HECHT 5W-40. Choose the SAE oil viscosity grade to match the temperature conditions of the place of use (fig. 9).
To inflate the tires use an inflation gun featuring pressure gauge. CHARGING THE BATTERY (ONLY MODELS WITH BATTERY STARTER) • The battery must be carefully maintained to ensure long life. • The machine battery must always be charged: before using the machine for the first time after purchase;...
Insert the charger cable fully to the charging hole (fig. 11A). Connect the charger to the mains supply. The mains voltage must match the operating voltage of the charger. The charging time is affected by battery and battery´s age. SIGNALLING ON THE CHARGER (FIG. 11B) •...
Lock the adjustment lever to ensure. OPERATION OF SUPPORT WHEEL (FIG. 16) The support wheel plays a role of supporting and turning the unit, and also for adjusting the height of the brush. Loosen the lock nut (fig. 16A). Increase the height of the brush (fig. 16B) by rotating the rider of the support wheel clockwise. Decrease the height of the brush by rotating the rider of the support wheel counterclockwise.
CAUTION! Do not allow the starter grip to snap back against the engine. Return it gently to prevent damage to the starter. Rapid retraction of starter cord (kickback) will pull hand and arm toward engine faster than you can let go. Broken bones, fractures, bruises or sprains could result. If the machine does not start in 5 seconds, check again the whole machine.
WARNING! Failure to properly follow maintenance instructions and precautions can cause you to be seriously hurt or killed. Always follow the procedures and precautions in this owner‘s manual. INSPECTION SCHEDULE FOR SAFETY OPERATION After Start of End of Activity 10 h 25 h 50 h oper.
MACHINE MAINTENANCE • Careful handling and regular cleaning ensure that the machine remains functional and efficient for a long time. • Keep the machine in good condition, if necessary change warning and instruction labels on the machine. • Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure the equipment is in safe working condition. •...
• To reduce the possibility of fire or explosion, be careful when working around gasoline. Use only a nonflammable solvent, not gasoline, to clean parts. Keep cigarettes, sparks and flames away from all fuel related parts. • Remember that an authorized servicing dealer of our company knows Your engine best and is fully equipped to maintain and repair it.
AIR FILTER INSPECTION AND CLEANING - PLEATED FILTER WITH PRE-FILTER CAUTION! The air filter must be serviced (cleaned) after 25 hours normal working. Service more frequently when operating the machine in extremely dusty areas. Shut off the engine before performing any service on the machine. Wait till all moving parts are completely stopped and disconnect the spark plug.
When reinstalling the original spark plug, tighten by 1/8 - 1/4 turn after the spark plug seats to compress the washer. A loose spark plug can become very hot and can damage the engine. Over tightening Note: the spark plug can damage the threads in the cylinder head. 10.
CAUTION! Never clean the engine by water. Water could penetrate into fuel system. Use brush or dry cleaning rag. Engine and his parts have to be kept clean in order to avoid overheating and ignition of dirt layer. DRAINING THE FUEL TANK AND CARBURETOR WARNING! Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive, and you can be burned or seriously injured when handling fuel.
can restrict air flow and cause the engine to overheat, resulting in poor performance and reduced engine life. ENGINE ADJUSTMENTS Do not change in any way the rated speed of the engine (carburetor side or regulator side). Note: Your engine was adjusted in the factory and the non-respect of the homologation speed engine could be dangerous for your safety and others safety.
• Also avoid any area with a spark producing electric motor, or where power tools are operated. • If possible, avoid storage areas with high humidity, because that promotes rust and corrosion. • If there is gasoline in the fuel tank, leave the fuel valve in OFF position. •...
If the cylinder was coated with oil during storage preparation, the engine will smoke briefly at startup. This is normal. FUEL STORAGE • Store the gasoline only in special can, otherwise there is a risk of fuel contamination. • Never store engine in vicinity of stoves, ovens, water heaters with pilot light, contingently other devices which can produce sparks.
Empty the fuel tank before transporting the machine. Empty the petrol tank with a suction pump. Start the engine and let it run until it has used up all remaining petrol and stalls. Close the fuel cap firmly. Turn the engine switch and fuel valve (if equipped) to the off or stop position. Let the engine to cool down before transporting.
