  • Page 3 Technical Note: Impact of using the BlackBerry Calendar Synchronization Tool 3 of 7 The test environment consisted of 2000 users on a single BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Two identical Microsoft Exchange servers each supported 1000 users. The calendars of all 2000 users were populated with approximately 12 appointments each day over a period of several days.

You can minimize the impact by configuring the BlackBerry Calendar Synchronization Tool to run the synchronization task during periods of low user activity. You can also avoid overlapping the schedules of the mailstore maintenance task and the synchronization task.
  • Page 5 You can use the results discussed in this document to plan for the impact of running the synchronization task in your organization’s environment. For example, if you configure the BlackBerry Calendar Synchronization Tool to run the synchronization task over 7 days, and you have 1000 users who schedule approximately six appointments each day, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server processes approximately 42,000 appointments.
