Health and safety

Here are a few things to keep in mind to avoid damaging your
Ableton Move or injuring yourself while using it.
Protect your hearing
Your Ableton Move can be connected to headphones or speak-
ers. Prolonged exposure to high volumes from either can cause
hearing damage. Keep an eye on your volume levels and remem-
ber that both background noise and continued exposure to high
volumes can make sounds seem quieter than they actually are.
Take regular breaks
Using your Ableton Move for extended periods of time could
lead to discomfort in your neck, shoulders, arms, elbows, wrists or
hands. Remember to maintain good posture when playing, take
breaks, and avoid extended repetitive motion.
Photosensitive epilepsy
If you suffer from epilepsy or epileptic seizures, consult a physi-
cian before use. Some patterns may cause epileptic seizures even
in people without pre-existing conditions.
Keep your Ableton Move cool
Your Ableton Move and its power supply might get warm during
use. Remember to keep the instrument and its power supply ven-
tilated. Don't use it in bed, on a pillow, or under bedding. If your
Ableton Move gets uncomfortably warm when being used on
your lap, move it to a stable work surface to cool it down.
Radio frequency exposure
Your Ableton Move uses radio signals to connect to wireless net-
works. It's been tested and meets applicable limits for radio fre-
quency (RF) exposure.
Your Ableton Move supports both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi
bands. We recommend only using the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band if you're
located in the EU, UK, USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Aus-
tralia or New Zealand.
For the best audio quality, avoid using your Ableton Move in a
high RF-radiated environment. Radio frequency interference
could make your Ableton Move malfunction, but it'll return to nor-
mal once any interference is removed.
Battery safety
Your Ableton Move contains a lithium battery.
Caution: Batteries can constitute a burn hazard, fire haz-
ard or explosion hazard. Handle them with extreme cau-
tion. Don't open, crush, or heat any batteries above 100° Celcius
(212° Fahrenheit).
Only use the batteries that come with your Ableton Move. Re-
member to always switch your instrument off before accessing its
battery, and never short-circuit any battery.
AC power supply safety
It is recommended to only connect your Ableton Move to the
power supply ABL05300 that comes with your instrument. Use of
any other power supply is at your sole risk.
The power supply that comes with your Ableton Move is only
intended for use with this instrument and isn't recommended or
approved for any other device.
When moving your Ableton Move or not using it, we recommend
securing its power cable so that it doesn't hang loosely from the
device (by wrapping it with a cable, for example).
Always double-check that the power cable of your Ableton Move
isn't damaged before using it. In case of damage, bring your
Ableton Move and its power cable to a qualified repair person.
You can find more information about this in the next section (Re-
pairs and care).
If the power cable that comes with your Ableton Move can't be
plugged in because your outlet is not functional or broken, get in
touch with an electrician to replace or repair it.
Make sure the power cable of your Ableton Move is protected
from being stepped on or pinched, especially where it connects to
the instrument or to an outlet.
Unplug your Ableton Move in case of lightning storms or if you
won't be using it for a long period of time.
Caution (for USA & Canada models only): TO PREVENT
ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT USE THIS (POLARIZED)
PLUG WITH AN EXTENSION CORD, RECEPTACLE, OR OTHER
OUTLET UNLESS THE BLADES CAN BE FULLY INSERTED TO
PREVENT BLADE EXPOSURE.
Moisture and temperature
Don't set your Ableton Move up near any heat sources. Extreme
sunlight, radiators, heat registers, stoves, and even amplifiers that
produce heat can damage your instrument. Use your Ableton
Move in a location where the ambient temperature is between
10° and 35° Celsius (50 – 95° Fahrenheit). If your Ableton
Move has been exposed to cold temperatures, wait for it to warm
to room temperature before using it again.
Warning: To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, don't
expose this instrument to rain or moisture. Electrical equip-
ment should never be kept or stored in damp environments.
Usage
Handle your Ableton Move with care. It's made with precious ma-
terials and has sensitive electronic components inside.
Always turn off your Ableton Move before storing or transporting
it. Only use attachments and accessories provided or approved
by Ableton.
