These installation instructions should be used as a guide by the trained fitter performing the installation.
Warning!
Possible laser/LED radiation in the non-visible spectrum!
Never look into open fiber ends if the level of risk from laser/LED radiation is not known.
Important
The assignment of the risk level must be specified definitively by the site technician/operator
responsible for the communications facility and must be indicated accordingly (e.g. by attaching
standard-compliant warning signs as per the current edition of DIN EN/IEC 60825-1, and in
accordance with the current edition of BGV B2 "Laser radiation").
If there is any change in the technical data relating to the risk level, the warnings must be adapted
accordingly and occupational safety precautions must be taken if required, see also e.g. the current
edition of DIN EN/IEC 60825-2.

General Unisub HD can be found in 4 sizes from 1U up to 4U with various configuration options .This unit is designed for connectorization in two configurations: as a patch-splice unit or splitter unit. It can be fixed in standard 19 inches frames.

    3. Frame installation 3.1 Prepare frame by inserting cage nuts at the required position. NOTE: Make sure there are correct spaces between cage nuts mind size of the bracket. Use the enclosed screws to fix mounting bracket on the left side of the frame. Or depending on purchased solution - on the right side.
  • Page 4 4. Incoming cable or protective tubes installation 4.1 Open subrack for full width to gain access to strain relief on the mounting bracket. Use comb and “T” shape features to fix incoming cables or tubes. (subrack 1U up to 4U size) For small cables route them directly to the fiber storage area, strip last 5cm of cable to buffer tube and enter fiber storage with lose tubes.
  • Page 5 4.3 In case of protection tubes, cut spiral wrap to correct length and fit one end into the transparent nozzle. Insert other end of nozzle at the protective tube. NOTE: Use 2 spiral wraps for each nozzle. If number of spiral wraps is uneven reverse nozzle with wider end to protective tube and fit single spiral wrap.
  • Page 6 4.6 Secure spiral wrap to the drawer with two cable ties. Adittionally spiral wrap can be fixed with plastic element cut off from the casette just like pre-installed pigtails. NOTE: Spiral wrap should be fitted while subrack is open for full width. In case of multiple draw- ers repeat opertion for each one, it is recomended to start with bottom drawer.
