Dell - Latitude™ D620 - Printer-Friendly Format
The Latitude™ D620 contain an integrated network adapter (LOM). The Broadcom® BCM5752
Ethernet controller supports 10/100/1000 BASE-T Ethernet connectivity. The 5752 includes a
10/100/1000-Mbps Ethernet MAC with full/half-duplex capability at all speeds and 10/100 copper
PHY.
The Broadcom BCM5752 is one of the controllers that implement the advanced PCI Express® host
interface. The BCM5752 is optimized for the tight space constraints of mobile PCs, so it has the
industry's smallest footprint. In addition, the BCM5752 can sense how the mobile PC is being used
and reduces the power to the lowest level necessary for that use. Whether the computer is docked
or mobile, transmitting data or not, the BCM5752's advanced power management logic provides six power-down modes to
always use the lowest power possible, extending battery life. Through an integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM), the
BCM5752 also includes support for the Trusted Computing Group 1.1b specification, offering security features and strong
authentication to protect corporate information from attack.
The Broadcom Advanced Control Suite is a Windows® diagnostic utility that can be installed from the ResourceCD or
support.dell.com. The Control Suite allows you to view statistics for the adapter, as well as a method to troubleshoot the
adapter in a Windows setting.

The network jack on the back of the computer contains link and data activity LEDs. A green (10 Mb) or amber (100 Mb) link
light indicates the network connection is active. If the link status light is off, replace the network cable. Blinking activity
indicates the network adapter driver is loaded and the adapter is detecting activity.
If the LOM is not being recognized, check if it is enabled in BIOS.
