    INTRODUCTION Congratulations on purchasing a Full Boar Floor Mounted Pedestal Drill. Your Full Boar Pedestal Drill FBT-8501 has been designed for drilling large or small holes in wood, metal, plastic etc. Heavy duty cast iron base and table provide a solid and stable work surface.

The term “Power Tool” in all of the warnings listed below refers to your mains operated (corded) power tool or battery operated (cordless) power tool.

    ASSEMBLY (cont.) Installing the machine 1. Before you use the pedestal drill for the first time it must be mounted in a stationary position on a firm, stable surface (fig. 18). Use four mounting holes in each corner of the base (12) to do this. Ensure that the machine is freely accessible for operation, adjustment and maintenance.

Only cylindrical bits with the stipulated maximum shaft diameter may be clamped in the drill chuck (26) (fig.
  • Page 17 ADJUSTMENTS (cont.) Presetting the drilling depth The drilling spindle has a swivelling scale ring for setting the drill depth. Only adjust the setting when the machine is at a standstill. Make sure that the power plug is removed from the mains outlet before adjusting the setting. To stop spindle (and drill bit) at a desired depth:- 1.

    ADJUSTMENTS (cont.) Setting the speed WARNING! Always ensure the pedestal drill is switched off and disconnected from the power supply before attempting to adjust belts/pulleys. The speed of the pedestal drill can be changed by adjusting the belts on the pulley system. See chart inside pulley cover (1) and page 21 for speed configurations.

A residual current device reduces the risk of electric shock. Note: The pulley cover (1) is fitted with a safety switch and must be closed to operate the pedestal drill.

    MAINTENANCE WARNING! Ensure the pedestal drill is switched off and disconnected from the mains power supply before performing any maintenance or cleaning. • Ball bearings are packed with grease at the factory. No further lubrication of bearings is required. • Lubricate all moving parts periodically. Wipe the column, table and base with an oily cloth to minimise corrosion.
