Stage 5: Configuring the PVS 407D
Switcher and System
Stage 5 involves configuring the PVS 407D switcher and system.
Component Overview
The following items and software are needed to complete this stage:
• Laptop/PC with a network connection
•
Product Configuration Software (PCS) program (download from www.extron.com)
• Global Configurator software (download from www.extron.com)
•
MLC Plus 50/100/200 User Guide
• Projector manufacturer guide
•
Device driver and driver package (download from www.extron.com)
Installation Overview
To configure the PVS switcher and system, perform the following steps:
1. Configuring the Switcher Using PCS
2. Configuring the System Using Global Configurator
3. Testing the System
4. Wrapping Up the Installation
Configuring the Switcher Using PCS
1. Download and install the latest PCS
program onto the PC that is to be
connected to the PVS 407D.
2. Connect the switcher to the PC (via
the front panel USB or rear panel
TCP/IP port), power devices, check
they are connected to the LAN.
3. Click on the PCS desktop icon to
launch the program.
NOTE: After installation, open
the embedded PCS Help file
and follow the instructions to
access and configure your
switcher.
4. From the Device Discovery tab (see figure 90), scroll to the applicable PVS 407D.
5. Click Connect.
