CHANGING A FUSE

Carefully read page 6 (BASIC SAFETY
RULES)
CAUTION
Do not repair faulty fuses.
Never use fuses with different rating.
This could damage the electric system
or cause a short circuit, with the risk of
fire.
CAUTION
When a fuse fitted in
a particular position keeps blowing
frequently, there might be a short circuit or
overloading.
Checking the fuse is recommended
whenever an electric component fails to
operate or is malfunctioning, or when the
engine does not start.

Check as follows:
Remove
the
seat,
see
(GLOVE/TOOL KIT COMPARTMENT).
Disconnect the battery cables, see page
45 (REMOVING THE BATTERY).
Extract and check the fuse (1) - a broken
filament (2) means that the fuse is blown.
CAUTION
Before replacing a
fuse, identify the cause of the failure, if
possible.
Replace the blown fuse with a new one
with equal current rating.
