  • Page 9 Contents of this chapter This chapter introduces this manual. Applicability This manual applies to the EGW-02 Connectivity Edge Gateway. In this document, we refer to it as the EGW-02 gateway or gateway. Safety WARNING Obey the safety instructions of the drive. If you ignore them, injury or death, or damage to the equipment can occur.

  • Page 17 Contents of this chapter This chapter contains unpacking and mechanical installation instructions for the EGW-02 gateway and the guidelines to install the antennas. Tools and accessories You can attach the gateway to a 35 × 7.5/15 mm DIN installation rail (IEC/EN 60715) without tools.

  • Page 19 Installing the gateway to an installation rail If the installation rail is not installed, install it. To attach the EGW-02 gateway to the rail, put it into position at the bottom edge of the installation rail and push to lock it fully into position.

Safety WARNING Obey the safety instructions of the drive. If you ignore them, injury or death, or damage to the equipment can occur. If you are not a qualified electrical professional, do not do installation, commissioning or maintenance work.

For the star connection, use an Ethernet switch as the central node. The diagrams show example connections to drive control units.   • Page 24 • Wired Ethernet takes priority over wireless mobile network connection. • When an Ethernet cable is connected to the EGW-02 gateway, even if this wired connection is not set up correctly, the mobile network connection is disabled. • To use a mobile network connection, you must disconnect the Ethernet (WAN) cable from the EGW-02 gateway.
  • Page 25 Connect the recommended antenna to the ANT 1 and ANT 2 connectors on the EGW-02 gateway. Use a torque of 0.5 N·m (4.5 lbf·in). If you use a non-MIMO antenna, connect it to the ANT 1 connector on the EGW-02 gateway.

  • Page 40 SSH key configuration On the SSH keys configuration page, you can add SSH keys. NOTICE This action requires Authorized person (ABB personnel) priviledges in the ABB Device Management System (DMS). To make and use an SSH key: Go to Configuration > SSH keys.

The icon in the Secure Connection column shows connection security information: • Green locked icon: Connection is secure. (HTTPS/TLS connected and valid certificates in use.)
