- Page 4 wiring installation requires special technical skills and experience. If you do not feel comfortable doing the installation please consult with your local car audio shop or installation professional for instructions or assistance if necessary. Carefully remove the factory stereo and display out of the dash cavity with proper tools.
- Page 5 IMPORTANT: External CD changer, if present, must be disconnected from the car stereo system. Connect supplied video cable VHADL to the factory display. Locate the display port on rear of the car stereo display. If the port is empty, plug in supplied video cable (VHADL) into the port and leave female portion of cable with nothing attached.
- Page 6 Connect VLine power cable MCFHADD to the factory head unit and behind the knob Locate the 10-pin connector behind the knob in the center trim piece. It is usually in green color. Plug the MCFHADD cable there, and replug the factory connector back to the MCFHADD cable male socket.
- Page 7 Connecting to the VLine Route the unused end of video cable VHADL and power interface cable MCF- HADD to the VLine module and connect them to the correctly labeled ports. Video Cable Power Interface Cable Routing the GPS antenna The GPS Antenna module is magnetic and supplied with double-sided tape. It can be mounted to the top of the dashboard or outside of the vehicle, whichever you prefer.
- Page 8 Routing the microphone Route the microphone to a location where it can pick up the voice. We recom- mend mounting the microphone near the rearview mirror but not directly on the windshield glass. Avoid sticking it to a hard surface, as it will pick up more noise.
- Page 9 Testing the VLine operation WARNING: Ensure to reconnect all unplugged connectors to the vehicle before cycling the ignition. Cycle the ignition and press the AUX button to enter the VLine mode. Ensure the VLine appears on the screen and all factory functions, such as climate controls, reverse camera, and AM/FM stereo, are working.

- Page 11 CHAPTER 2 — GETTING STARTED 2.1 Initializing Cycle the ignition and press AUX button to enter the VLine mode of the stereo. 2.2 Functions The GROM VLINE emulates the factory AUX mode of the stereo. Press the AUX button to enter into VLINE interface mode. No factory functions of the stereo will be disabled.
- Page 12 2.3 Forcing the VLine VL2 / VLite VT2 User Interface on the display You can listen to FM radio while seeing the VLine VL2 / VLite VT2 or CarPlay and Android Auto UI. While in FM mode, press and hold MAP button for a few seconds to force the VLine on the screen.
