50VDC input connector. Phoenix connector 1777989 The controller requires 50VDC from the power supply to monitor and to drive aspects of the OEM 100iX electronics. This is required and must be provided on the two-way plug provided on the controller. The 50V input is protected by a 1A fuse (located below the connector).

Back reflections can damage beam delivery optics and, even worse, destroy the cavity optics of the laser itself thereby rendering the laser inoperative. isolators are commercially available from beam delivery component suppliers and Luxinar. Please contact the local office or its Distributor for more details on optical isolators.

Mounting of Luxinar straight through ATFR back reflection optical isolator, see Section 5 for more details Laser Power Measurement The OEM 100iX is fitted as standard with an internal power sensor that allows the customer to monitor laser power. However, a customer may wish to run the laser into their own power-head.

Shutter monitoring The OEM 100iX safety shutter unit includes 3 shutter position sensors. 1 sensor for monitoring the open position and 2 sensors for monitoring the shutters closed position. These are monitored internally by the control electronic, and will stop the laser firing on fault detection.

Incorrect Factory set-up The OEM 100iX controller is factory set to the correct operational mode for the customer, for instance ‘SCX 30 emulation’. If in the unlikely event the set-up is incorrect, you may need to access the inside of the controller in order to reconfigure. For this Luxinar will provide a detailed step by step guide.

Section 4 Maintenance General Information Luxinar laser systems have been designed to be low maintenance processing lasers. There are no requirements for internal routine maintenance procedures. The system's sealed construction and limited moving parts ensure trouble free and reliable operation.
Page 72
When the optic is clean, replace the optic and lens and connect purge gas to the Laser head beam delivery. Where severe contamination has permanently damaged the optic, contact the Luxinar After Sales team to purchase a new optic (this will come bonded into its frame).
Page 73
If the filter becomes discoloured or contaminated, the purge gas supply should be checked and the filter should be replaced immediately. Replacement filters are available from the Luxinar After Sales Team part number 402-0006-00. Refer to the relevant manufacturer’s instructions for maintenance of the purge gas supply and any associated equipment.

Luxinar does not accept liability for any damage or injury howsoever caused or arising. The pilot laser is a red diode source operating at 635nm and a power not exceeding 4mW. It is a Class 3R device. The beam from the diode has been factory aligned to lie along the same beam path as the laser head CO beam.
Page 75
To protect the Laser head from damaging levels of back reflection, an optical isolation unit or ATFR device can be purchased from Luxinar. The device attaches directly to the exit of the Laser head and converts the light from linear to circularly polarised. Light reflected back towards the laser is absorbed by the ATFR mirror within the device, allowing only a few percent through to the laser head.
