3. Description of the equipment 3.1 Overview The WIGGENS system D-500 Pro prepares finest dispersions and homogenizations and is suitable for use with working volumes up to 2000ml (depending on the viscosity of the product and the dispersing aggregate used). The drive can be equipped with a wide range of WIGGENS dispersing-aggregates. -

3.2 Drive unit The drive unit D-500 Pro is equipped with a 500 W motor and will be started using the main switch placed at the front side. The speed will be adjusted using knob on the front side of the device. Within the speed range of up to 30’000 rpm, the integrated closed loop speed control will tune the speed to any adjusted value independent from load changes. -

4.2 Assembling of the drive The D-500 Pro drive arrives fully equipped with the extension suitable for the stand WH-12. Just mount the drive at the stand and plug the line cord into the power inlet connection at the back side. -

5.1 Drive Under normal working conditions, the D-500 Pro drive, requires no special servicing. Parts such as the motor brushes and bearing are subject to natural wear. The following are standard values for wear parts of the drive: Ball bearings: several 1000’s of operating hours. - Page 15 WIGGENS D-500Pro Disassembly of the dispersing tool Hold the dispersing tool with a cloth (to avoid cutting of your hand due to sharp edges at the stator). At the same time turn the shaft tube clockwise. Screw the shaft tube of the stator and pull it over the axle and put it aside.
- Page 16 Operating Manual Remove the PTFE bearing from the axle. After this disassembly you should have the following five parts: shaft tube, axle, rotor, stator and PTFE bearing. To assemble the dispersing tool please follow above 3 steps in reverse order (3./2./1.) When assembling the dispersing tool, always make sure that the PTFE bearing is fixed correctly and cooled by the working medium.
