SETTING COM1 FUNCTION
The OMI6800B Series Serial Ports are configured by default as RS232, but COM1 can be configured for
RS422 (4-wire) or RS485 (2-wire) operation if so desired. Port configuration is managed through the
BIOS; see the below table for instructions on changing COM1 port mode.
Note: COM1 is the only port that can be configured for RS422 or RS485 operation; COM2 is
exclusively configured for RS232 operation.
BIOS COM1 Configuration
1. Enter the BIOS Setup Utility
by pressing [Delete] key
during POST.
The Main menu containing
the system summary
information will appear.
2. Set COM1 communication
mode as follows:
• Advanced Tab
• NCT6106D Super IO
Configuration
• Serial Port 1 Configuration
• F75111 COM1 Config:
o RS-232 mode
o RS-485 mode
o RS-422 mode
Save and Exit to restart
