Reducing blur due to camera shake
during movie shooting

Image stabilization may not prevent motion
blur caused by movement of the subject or
by extreme movement of the camera.
When set to [ON], shooting is slightly
zoomed in.
Selecting a scene mode according to
the shooting situation [/s]

In s mode, the optimum shooting
settings are pre-programmed for specifi c
shooting scenes. For this reason, settings
may not be changed in some modes.

Application
Shoots without using the image
stabilizing function. (Use when
shooting with the camera fi xed to a
tripod or similar.)
Shoots using the image stabilizing
function.

Application
The camera takes
a picture in the
mode for the
shooting scene.
To release the shutter automatically
when the camera detects a smiling
face ([N SMILE SHOT] mode)
1 Select [N SMILE SHOT] and point the
camera toward the subject.
K: A
The self-timer lamp turns on. When the
camera detects a smiling face, it automatically
takes 3 frames sequentially.
Pictures can also be taken manually by
pressing the shutter button.
Depending on your subject, a smiling face
may not be detected.
Making settings by following the
shooting guide [R]
R
This provides an on-screen guide for the
user to automatically make a desired camera
setting such as adjusting the setting for a
subject or selecting the shooting setting to
obtain a desired effect.
1 Follow the guide by using
proceed.
Pressing the x button completes the setting
and makes the camera ready for shooting.
To exit the shooting guide, press the m
button to select [EXIT], and press the x
button. Functions set using the shooting
guide will revert to their previous settings.
