Possible cause
The camera moved when the
shutter button was pressed.
The subject is too close.
In self-timer mode, you were
standing in front of the camera
lens when you pressed the
shutter button.
The green lamp on the monitor
blinked when the shutter but-
ton was pressed halfway.
You did not use focus lock
when the subject was outside
the center of the frame.
The lens was dirty (there was
water on it, etc.).
The lens was partly blocked by
your finger or the strap.
The subject was too close.
The flash was set to [
The center of the subject is too
dark.

The picture is out of focus
Hold the camera correctly.
Press the shutter button gently.
When you take a picture with
[$] or [m] (NIGHT SCENE)
in a dark situation, use a tripod
or hold the camera firmly.
Use the macro or super macro
mode.
If you press the shutter button
when you are standing in front of
the camera lens, the camera will
focus on you. Press the shutter
button while looking at the monitor.
Wait until the green lamp lights
before pressing the shutter
button fully.
Use focus lock to obtain an
accurate focus.
Wipe the lens. Use a commer-
cially available blower brush
and then wipe with a lens
cleaning paper to remove dust.
If the lens is left dirty or wet,
mold may form.
The picture has obscured edge(s)
Hold the camera correctly.
Check the actual picture area
by using the monitor to take
the picture.
The picture is too bright
