 Safety precautions
 Précautions de sécurité
The following describes precautions not shown in "Safety Guidelines" and is unique to this
product. Read these precautions before using the product.
[Design Precautions]
● For the operating status of each station after a communication failure in a PLC to PLC
network, refer to the Q Corresponding MELSECNET/H Network System Reference Manual
(PLC to PLC network). Malfunction due to a communication failure may result in an accident.
● When the network (remote I/O network) develops a communication error, the station with the
communication error will enter into the following status.
Check the communication status information and configure an interlock circuit in the
sequence program to ensure that the entire system will operate safely. Failure to do so may
result in an accident due to an incorrect output or malfunction.
(1) The remote master station will hold the data from before the communication error.
(2) The remote I/O station turns off all outputs. The output module of the remote I/O station
can clear/hold the output status at the time of error by using the remote I/O module
parameters. As the parameters are set to "clear" by default, the output module turns off
the outputs at the time of error. In case that the system operates safely when the output is
held, set the parameter to "Hold".
[Startup/Maintenance Precautions]
● Before performing online operations (especially, program modification, forced output, and
operating status change) for the running CPU module on another station from the
programming tool (GX Works2 or GX Developer) over the MELSECNET/H network, read
relevant manuals carefully and ensure the safety.
Improper operation may damage machines or cause accidents.

[Précautions lors de la conception]
AVERTISSEMENT
● A propos de l'état fonctionnel de chacune des stations d'un réseau PLC à PLC après une
panne de communication, voir le manuel de référence du réseau correspondant Q
MELSECNET/H (réseau PLC à PLC). Une panne de communication peut entraîner un
dysfonctionnement à l'origine d'un accident.
● Après survenance d'une erreur de communication dans le réseau (réseau I/O distant), la
station où a eu lieu l'erreur de communication se trouve dans l'état suivant.
Vérifier les infos d'état de communication et constituer un circuit de verrouillage dans le
programme séquentiel pour garantir la sécurité de fonctionnement de l'ensemble du
système. Faute de quoi, une instruction de sortie incorrecte ou un dysfonctionnement
pourrait être à l'origine d'un accident.
(1) La station maîtresse distante retiendra les données antérieures à l'erreur de
communication.
(2) La station I/O distante interromt toutes les sorties. Le module de sortie de la station I/O
distante peut annuler ou maintenir l'état de sortie du moment de la survenance de l'erreur
selon le paramétrage du module I/O distant. Par défaut, le paramétrage est "clear"
(annuler) et le module de sortie interrompt toutes les sortie à la survenance d'une erreur.
Sila sécurité du système n'est pas compromise par le maintien des sorties, on peut
choisir le paramètre "Hold" (maintien).
[Mise en service/Précautions de maintenance]
● Avant d'effectuer une opération en ligne (en particulier une modiciation de programme, une
sortie forcée ou un changement d'état fonctionnel) sur un module CPU actif d'une autre
station à partie de l'outil de programmation (GX Works2 ou GX Developer) d'un réseau
MELSECNET/H, consulter les manuels correspondants pour travailler en toute sécurité.
Une fausse manœuvre pourrait être à l'origine d'un accident ou de dégâts matériels.

 Installation of the unit
Consider ease of operation, maintainability, and resistance to adverse environmental
conditions when installing the product in a control panel, etc.
Securely install all units in the MELSEC-Q series on the base unit.
Also refer to the QCPU User's Manual (Hardware Design, Maintenance and Inspection) for
details of installation.
