The TYCO Model QRS-2 Quick Release Switch
- Electronic Accelerator for Prescient III Gas
Suppression Panel described herein must be installed
and maintained in compliance with this document, as
well as with the applicable standards of the NATIONAL
FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION (NFPA), in
addition to the standards of any other authorities
having jurisdiction. Failure to do so may impair the
performance of this device.
The owner is responsible for maintaining their fire
protection system and devices in proper operating
condition. Contact the installing contractor or sprinkler
manufacturer with any questions.
General description
The TYCO Model QRS-2 Quick Release Switch – Electronic
Accelerator for Prescient III Gas Suppression Panel, herein
called the Model QRS-2 Electronic Accelerator, is a quick
opening device intended to reduce the operating time of a
dry pipe valve in a dry pipe system or an automatic control
valve (deluge valve) in a double interlock electric/electric
preaction system.

Model QRS-2 Quick Release
Switch – Electronic Accelerator
for Prescient III Gas Suppression Panel
The Prescient III Gas Suppression Panel is a control panel
for gas suppression systems that is approved for the
European Market. The panel can be reconfigured for use
with water-based fire suppression systems.
The panel can be used with one Model QRS-2 Electronic
Accelerator for one system riser, using the dry pipe valve
model size range described in
Table 1: Compatible dry pipe valve

The panel also can be used with one Model QRS-2
Electronic Accelerator for one system riser in a double
interlock electric/electric preaction system, using the
