SECTION 3: CIRCUIT REQUIREMENTS

110V Operation

The Model G1035 Shaper motor is prewired to
operate at 110V. A plug is not included with this
machine. Plugs and receptacles for 110V service
can be purchased at your local hardware store or
home center. This plug must be rated for at least
a 20 amp draw. See Figure 1.
Under normal 110V use, the motor draws approxi-
mately 16 amps. We recommend a 20 amp circuit
breaker or a 20 amp slow-blow fuse.
We recommend using a dedicated circuit, (i.e.,
the G1035 should provide the only draw from
that circuit). If frequent circuit failures occur when
using the shaper, contact our Service Department
or your local electrical contractor.

220V Operation
The motor supplied with the Model G1035 can
be operated at either 110V or 220V. The motor
comes prewired for 110V. Refer to the wiring
diagram supplied at the back of this manual for
information about converting your machine to
operate at 220V.
If you are converting your machine to 220V, a
suitable 220V plug must be wired in. When oper-
ating at 220V, we recommend using a NEMA-
style 6-15 plug and outlet. See Figure 2. You may
also "hard-wire" the shaper directly to your panel,
provided you place a disconnect switch near the
machine. Check the electrical codes in your area
for specifics on wiring requirements.
Under normal use, the motor draws approximately
8 amps @ 220V. We recommend a 10 amp circuit
breaker for 220V operation. This should be satis-
factory for normal use while providing adequate
circuit protection.
