READ OPERATOR'S MANUAL BEFORE USE
QUICK REFERENCE SET UP GUIDE FOR THE
MHP13AT CHERRY PICKER
PREPARATION

MUST be unhitched from the tow vehicle
including safety chains.

MUST have the handbrake applied.

Remove 2 x travel locks:
> Boom pin & basket travel latch.

Choose power source - Battery or Petrol Engine
> Battery - Turn electric isolator switch 'ON'.
> Petrol Engine - turn fuel tap on motor 'ON'.
SET UP

At the base controls, ensure Emergency Stop
button is pulled out.

Use toggle switch to select power source,
'FUEL' (Petrol Engine) or 'ELECTRIC' (Battery).

Turn the key to 'BASE' mode.

If using Petrol engine, start engine with toggle
switch marked 'START'.
For a cold motor start, use the 'CHOKE' toggle
switch.

Select 'STABLISER' setting with toggle switch.

On the 'OUTRIGGER INTERLOCKS' control
box, use 'Auto Level' to lower outriggers.
Five green lights should be illuminated at the
end of the process.
1 x Lift Enable, 4 x Outrigger (RF, LF, RR, LR).
IMPORTANT
After auto level function is complete, the cherry picker
wheels MUST be off the ground. (GROUND
CLEARANCE)
If not, use the 'Manual Operation Switches' (RF, LF, RR,
LR) to raise the cherry picker so that the wheels are off
the ground.
After this adjustment, five green lights should still be
illuminated at the end of the process.
1 x Lift Enable, 4 x Outrigger (RF, LF, RR, LR).
Continued ...

Turn the key to 'PLATFORM' mode in
preparation for using the platform controls.
(If using petrol engine, it will turn off. Turn on
from platform)
OPERATION

At the platform controls, ensure Emergency
Stop button is pulled out.
If using Petrol engine, start engine with toggle

switch marked 'START'.

To use platform controls, the operator's foot
pedal must be depressed BEFORE moving
toggle switches.

The diagram on the platform control box shows
which toggle operates which part of the
machine.

To slew (rotate left / right), the lower boom must
be raised past the horizontal position.
TIPS FOR DURING USE
Sometimes there is a few second delay on movement
after pressing the toggle switch. Hold toggle switch on in
required direction.
If the platform controls are unresponsive, release toggle
switch and remove foot from operator's foot pedal, then
re-engage per instructions above.
The speed of movement can be sped up or slowed down
with the black knob marked 'SPEED'.
PACK DOWN

Slew the machine booms to the stowage
position. A 'BOOM CENTRED' light will
illuminate when stowage alignment is achieved.

Booms MUST be packed down the following
order.
1 st Retract Telescoping Boom
2 Drop the Lower Boom
nd
3 rd Drop the Upper Boom
NOTE: The upper boom will not stow correctly if done in
a different order.

After returning all booms to their travel position,
exit the platform.

At the base controls, turn the key to 'BASE'
mode.
(If using petrol engine, it will turn off. Turn on
from 'BASE' controls.)

On the 'OUTRIGGER INTERLOCKS' control
box, use 'Auto Level' to raise outriggers.
Replace 2 x travel locks:

> Boom pin & basket travel latch.
