    PROVIDERS under the terms of the regulation. Technical description The PONTIG 315 AC/DC device is an inverter welding rectifier for TIG welding in an argon shield (arc striking with an HF ionizer or rubbing with the end of a tungsten electrode) or with an MMA-coated electrode (Stick).

    PONTIG 315 AC/DC is delivered in a transport box, assembled and connected to the FANCOOL 300 MOST cooler and a transport trolley. The set includes a ground cable, gas hose and canister of COOL 30 MOST coolant. TIG torch is an optional accessory - see Accessories.

    2. Health and Safety Manual Attention: The following User’s Manual should be read prior installing and starting the device. User’s Manual should be known to every welder and employee responsible for equipment maintenance. Attention: The device is may not be used for the purpose of pipe defrosting! Use and maintenance of welding equipment may be dangerous.

    Electromagnetic interference. The device may influence other devices sensitive to electromagnetic interference (robots, computers, etc.) Make sure that the devices within the welding work station are resistant to inter- ference. Users with implanted pacemakers should consult a physician prior to welding. The electromagnetic field may interfere with the operation of some pacemakers.

    RADIATION Ultraviolet radiation emitted during welding is harmful to eyesight and skin. Therefore a welding mask with protective filters is required. Welding work station should meet certain requirements, including: • adequate lighting system, • fixed or movable protection screens, governing bystanders against radiation effects (depending on requirements), •...
  • Page 47 Regarding the cooling system: Coolant must be refilled using the original ACL-10 fluid (Catalogue no. 50 20 790046 - canister 5 l). The liquid must be completely replaced after 3 years or in the event of discoloration or thickening (sludge). The liquid level should be kept between the MAX-MIN indications on the radiator filler.
  • Page 48 Transport. Be especially careful when transporting device with a forklift or a lift truck - risk of damage to the device’s chassis. Use only suitable slings for a vertical transport by crane. Before transporting the device, remove the gas cylinder from the rear shelf. The maximum permissible inclination angle for transport is 10°.

  • Page 53 6.1 Selection of the wire feeder In all FANMIG devices, two-groove rolls are used. Grooves for wire feed with two different diameters (e.g., 0.8 and 1.0 mm). In order to change the diameter of the roller, pressure body B must be released first (according to Fig.
  • Page 54 6.2 Device adjustment for aluminium welding When feeding with aluminium wire, it is necessary to use a U-profile rolls (e.g. 51 13 007885). To avoid problems with wire feeding, use 1.0 mm AIMg or AlSi wire. Al99 alloy wires are too soft, so their use can be problematic. For aluminium welding, an additional Teflon liner of welding torch and a special contact tip sho- uld be applied.

Device construction PONTE 402 MOST is an inverter rectifier for welding with various types of coated electrodes or the TIG DC method with ignition by scratching the tip of the tungsten electrode. All settings are made on the front panel of the device. On the rear panel of the device there is a main ON/OFF switch.
