    NIR-B & MWIR-B Borescopes Thermal Imaging System INSTALLATION OVERVIEW The Borescope Thermal Imaging System comprises a thermal imaging Borescope Camera which is designed to be installed inside a protective enclosure. The enclosure has air or water cooling facilities. This protective enclosure is designed to be installed in a furnace via a standpipe assembly.

    Thermal Imaging System NIR-B & MWIR-B Borescopes ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS The basic system electrical connections are as follows: • Mains input to the Thermal Imaging Power Supply Unit (PSU) • 8-Way cable from the PSU to the Borescope Camera • Ethernet Cable from the Borescope Camera to the PSU •...
  • Page 11 NIR-B & MWIR-B Borescopes Thermal Imaging System Slide the M25 Conduit Gland and the Cable Seal Washer over the free end of the 8-way cable. The rubber Conduit Cable Seal is split lengthways and is designed to clamp around the cable. Fit the Seal so that it is approximately 150 mm (6 in) from the 8-way connector (Fig.

Attach the back cap to the thermometer jacket and secure it via the locking clips on the top and bottom of the Back-cap.

    NIR-B & MWIR-B Borescopes Thermal Imaging System CONNECTION OF WATER COOLED ENCLOSURE CAUTION Refer to Installation Drawings Sheets for details of Pressure Relief Valves. Pressure Relief Valves must be fitted to both the water inlet and water outlet. Make sure that the cooling water supply is connected and operating before inserting the Borescope Thermal Imaging Camera into a furnace.

    Thermal Imaging System NIR-B & MWIR-B Borescopes The cooling water connections to the protective enclosure are made via the 1/2 in NPT female connectors on the protective housing (Fig. 4-2). You will need two 1/2 in NPT male stainless steel fittings (not supplied) to connect to the Water in and Water out connectors.

    NIR-B & MWIR-B Borescopes Thermal Imaging System INSTALLATION OF AIR COOLED EQUIPMENT CAUTION Make sure that the cooling and purge air supplies are connected and operating before inserting the Borescope Thermal Imaging Camera into a furnace. Make sure that the flow of air is maintained at all times.

    Installation of the Thermal imaging system can be broken down into the following steps: Installing the camera in the protective enclosure, including setting the Purge Gap. Electrical connections to the NIR-b Camera. Connecting the cooling air and purge air to the protective enclosure/standpipe assembly.
