    Section 3 Product Information 3.1 Description The APEX 2300 Series Examination chair is designed to provide a comfortable, adjustable platform for conducting routine examinations. The chair is adjustable from a straight up position to a flat horizontal position. A gas-filled dampening cylinder with spring tension is used to assist in returning the chair back to the sitting position.

    Section 4 Installation General Information Refer to Table 3-1 for clearance requirements and determine an appropriate installation site. The installation should be close enough to a 115 VAC 20A wall receptacle to be reached by the 66” (1.68 m) power cord. The work area should include adequate overhead lighting to avoid casting shadows on the patient.

    Section 4 Installation Wooden Floor Installation To Install the APEX 2300 and APEX 2310 Examination Chairs onto a wooden floor, Figure 4-2 refer to and proceed as follows: DISCONNECT ALL ELECTRICAL POWER BEFORE MOVING CHAIR. WARNING It is recommended that #14 x 1-1/2” round head wood screws be used for wooden NOTE floor installation.

    Section 4 Installation 4.4 Optional SOLARLITE Installation The APEX 2300 and APEX 2310 Examination Chairs are equipped with an ambidextrous bracket on the chair back which permits the installation of the optional S 900116 OR S 900117 SOLARLITE. Refer to Figure 4-3 and proceed as follows: 1.

  • Page 14 Section 5 Operating Instructions 5.2 Pinch Points Specific areas on the chair may have a risk of injury due to pinch points. To minimize these risks be mindful of body part locations while the chair is moving. See Figure 5-2 for potential pinch point locations.

    Section 5 Operating Instructions 5.3 Rotating Chair Position PATIENTS SHOULD ONLY ENTER OR LEAVE THE CHAIR WHEN IT IS IN THE WARNING LOWEST, UPRIGHT POSITION, AND THE ROTATION LOCK IS ENGAGED. FAILURE TO DO SOCOULD RESULT IN INJURY TO PERSONNEL OR PATIENT. The chair may be rotated a full 360 degrees and locked into position using the footswitch pedals.

    Section 5 Operating Instructions 5.5 Multi-Position Headrest - APEX 2310 Only The multi-position headrest is adjusted by manipulating the pivoting arm assembly mounted on the back of the chair. The mechanism is restrained by a lever which is part of the assembly. See Figure 5-3.

    Section 5 Operating Instructions 5.6 Multi-Position Headrest Friction Adjustment Occasionally the headrest may need to be tightened. Since it relies on friction to maintain a secure position, this adjustment may vary with users. To tighten this adjustment, See Figure 5-4 and proceed as follows: 1.
