Death or serious injury can occur. No child restraint can guarantee protection from injury in every situation, but proper use helps to reduce the risk of serious injury or death.

  • Page 16 LATCH / UAS WHAT IS LATCH/UAS? Most vehicles manufactured after September 1, 2002 are equipped with: U.S.: LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) Canada: UAS (Universal Anchorage System) Check your vehicle owner’s manual to determine LATCH/UAS compatible seating positions. Some vehicle manuals use the term “ISOFIX” instead; LATCH/UAS can also be used in vehicle seating positions that are equipped with ISOFIX.

    VEHICLE SEATING LOCATIONS According to accident statistics, children are safer when properly restrained in the rear seating positions than in the front seating positions. The safest seating position is one that works best for your specific child restraint, family and vehicle model. Before installing this child restraint you must determine the method of installation and the best vehicle seating position for that method.

    FIRST SETUP ATTACHING THE BACKREST With seat lying flat on the floor, place hooks at seat bottom. Attach the backrest hooks to seat mounting points. Push down on backrest just above hooks until fully engaged.  Rotate backrest to an upright position while maintaining pressure just above the hooks. ...

    WARNING! Unsecured objects can become flying hazards and can cause serious injury in an accident. If your vehicle is equipped with lower anchors, Diono always recommends installation utilizing the LATCH/UAS connectors with this booster seat.   • Page 20 FIRST SETUP Place the seat in the vehicle and align the LATCH/UAS connectors to the vehicle’s lower anchors.
  • Page 21 FIRST SETUP Attach both LATCH/UAS connectors to the vehicle anchors. The LATCH/UAS lock button will change from RED to GREEN when the connectors “click” locking to the vehicle anchors. WARNING! Ensure the LATCH/UAS lock button is GREEN on both connectors. If the indicator is RED, use the LATCH/UAS lock button to release the connector from the anchor and re-attach until the lock button turns GREEN.

    FIRST SETUP ADJUSTING THE RECLINE ANGLE IMPORTANT: It may also be necessary to adjust the recline angle of the booster seat to match that of the vehicle seat. This booster seat features a recline angle that can adjust to match that of the vehicle seat: Push booster seat backrest backwards until it moves freely.

    FIRST SETUP ADJUSTING THE HEAD SUPPORT Rotate head support adjustment tabs to release head support adjustment panel. Reach under head support adjustment panel and pull panel out, at the same time pull up on head support while pushing down on backrest. Adjust to proper height for child.

    SECURING THE CHILD Use ONLY the vehicle’s lap and shoulder belt system when restraining the child in this booster seat. DO NOT use a lap belt only! ALWAYS make sure the vehicle seat belt can properly retract before each use. Properly position child into 1 cm installed seat.
  • Page 25 SECURING THE CHILD Feed the shoulder belt portion of the vehicle seat belt through the upper belt guide. IMPORTANT: • When the shoulder belt is routed through the upper belt guide, pull some webbing out of the retractor. Slowly release it to make sure the belt property feeds back into the retractor.

It should align with the red belt path guides on the side of seat.     COVER REMOVAL The Everett NXT booster seat features a three piece, easy to remove cover; head support cover, backrest cover and the seat bottom cover. First detach backrest from seat bottom. HEAD SUPPORT COVER REMOVAL Pull head support up to highest position.

    COVER INSTALLATION Pull head support cover over head support and adjust cover to fit. Pull the elastic hoop over the belt guides. Snap plastic snaps on the back of the head support. Pull backrest cover over backrest and attach elastic loops over backrest shell attachment hooks.

    CUP HOLDER To attach your cup holder, locate the cup holder icon on seat cover on either side of the seat. Insert the cup holder into the slot in the seat. Push down to securely engage the cup holder into the slot. WARNING: DO NOT use with hot liquids and foods as this could burn a child.

    CARE & MAINTENANCE DO NOT use solvents, harsh detergents or any other chemical or cleaning agent. DO NOT lubricate any part of the seat. CLEANING FABRICS: SEAT COVER Wash separately. Fasten hook and loop before washing. Machine or hand wash fabrics in cold water on gentle cycle with mild detergent. Dry flat and away from direct sunlight before re-use or storage.
