Lubrication
The gear case has been completely lubricated at the factory. However, after six months to one
year, depending upon use, it's wise to return your tool to the nearest Authorized SKIL Service
Center for the following:
Brushes replaced.
•
Parts cleaned and inspected.
•
Re-lubricated with fresh lubricant.
•
Electrical system tested.
•
Any other repairs.
•
The following parts should be oiled occasionally with SAE No. 20 or No. 30 oil, or WD 40.
1. Elevation support rods (Fig. 50a).
2. Sliding rails and supports (Fig. 50b).

Carbon Brushes
The brushes and commutator in your tool have been engineered for many hours of
dependable service. To maintain peak efficiency of the motor, we recommend every two to six
months the brushes be examined. Only genuine SKIL replacement brushes specially designed
for your tool should be used.
Bearings
Bearings that become noisy (due to heavy load or very abrasive material cutting) should be
replaced at once by an Authorized SKIL Service Center to avoid overheating or motor failure.
