Wiring warning WARNING External wiring, unless specified as an optional connection in the manufacturer’s product line, is not to be connected inside the control cabinet. Devices such as relays, switches, transducers and controls and any external wiring must not be installed inside the micro panel. All wiring must be in accordance with the published specifications of Johnson Controls and must be performed only by a qualified electrician.

Variable speed drive (490, 0490A, 0490B, 0490C) 1. All field wiring must be completed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) USA codes and other applicable codes and specifications listed in this manual. NEC articles and paragraphs cited are for reference only and may not be the current NEC code. WARNING Correct grounding is required.

3. Using power correction capacitors may cause interference with the operation of the drive, or may cause the power factor to be over-corrected. The drive corrects the power factor to 0.95 for the drive. 4. Johnson Controls does not supply the wiring, electrical conduit, junction boxes, fused disconnect switches (FDS), or circuit breakers, starters (M), pushbutton stations (PB), manual-off-automatic switch (S), flow switch (FLS) or control relays.

14. Refer to the wiring diagram for YORK control center and Field Control Modifications (Form 160.78- PW2). 15. The branch circuit overcurrent protection device for the YORK drive must be a time delay type with a rating which is the standard fuse or circuit breaker size in line with NEC standards.

17. The drive is equipped with a UL listed rotary disconnect switch or optional circuit breaker. In both cases, fast acting semiconductor fuses are located downstream of the disconnecting device, to provide additional protection to the drive. A ground fault is employed on both circuit breaker and disconnect switch models through the drive logic control board.
