READ THIS FIRST! Before installing
your new BRINKS handleset, please
refer to the separate Door Preparation
instructions 999-00364. Proceed with
the instructions below only after you
have con rmed that your door has
been properly prepared.

Determine the Backset
a.
The backset is the distance
from door edge to center of
2-1/8" (54 mm) hole on the
door face.
The included latch will work
b.
for both backset distances
shown without adjustment.
Measure the backset for your
door and note the appropriate
square cam hole for Step 4.

Adjust Center to Center Distance If Necessary
a. The bottom screw post is set for a 8-5/8" (219 mm)
center to center distance (Position B). For replacement
installations, check to see if the handleset can be
installed. If yes, move to Step 4.
b. If no, the bottom screw post can be positioned for two
other common center to center distances (A: 8-7/16";
C: 8-31/32").
c.
Unscrew the post using pliers, place it in either hole A
or C and screw it into position rmly.
d.
If none of the three screw post positions allows for
handleset installation, a new hole must be drilled. See
the door preparation instructions.

Install Handleset
a. Insert the square spindle of the handleset through
the correct square cam hole of the latch.
b. Align the bottom screw post with the lower hole
(C) in the door and make sure the handleset is
ush with the face of the door.

Install Lower Handle Machine Screw
a. Insert the (S3) Lower Handle Machine Screw through
the "cup" side of the Washer.
b.
Insert the screw into the hole (C) in the door, engaging
the threaded bottom screw post, and tighten rmly.
c. Snap the Screw Cover onto the Washer.

Install Latch
a. Select appropriate faceplate
(square or round corners) to
match the cutout in the door
edge. (Optional)
b.
To change the faceplate,
carefully separate the faceplate
from the latch using a athead
screwdriver. Align and "snap"
on the desired faceplate.
c. Install latch into the 1" hole in
the door edge as shown.
d. Insert two (S1) Wood Screws
into the faceplate holes and
tighten.
Center-to-center distance
A : 8-7/16" (214 mm)
B : 8-5/8" (219 mm)
C : 8-31/32" (228 mm)

Install Inside Knob
a. Slide the Inside Knob over the square spindle
of the handleset until it is ush with the door.
b. Insert two (S2) Machine Screws through the
holes in the rose, engaging the threads in the
handleset, and tighten rmly.

Install Strike Plate
a. Secure the Strike Plate using two (S1) Wood
Screws. Tighten rmly.
b.
If desired, adjust the tab of the Strike Plate
using a at head screwdriver to move the door
closer or further away from the door stop
when the door is closed.
