•This tool is not a comprehensive diagnostic instrument. It detects common
wiring problems, but does not:
•indicate quality of ground
•detect 2 hot wires in circuit
•detect a combination of defects
•indicate reversal of grounded and grounding conductors
•When testing a GFCI circuit:
•Consult the GFCI manufacturer's specifications.
•Test the GFCI according to the manufacturer's instructions. The GFCI must

When testing GFCIs installed in 2-wire systems (no ground

GFCI is not functioning properly. If this occurs, recheck the operation of
the GFCI using the test and reset buttons. The GFCI button test function
will demonstrate proper operation.

directly connected to a low voltage installation.

ASSEMBLY
Changing the Battery
Only use alkaline batteries. Do not use zinc-carbon batteries. If the tool will
not be used for a long time, remove the batteries as a protection against cor-
rosion. When the battery is low, the red tip light and buzzer will blink and beep
repeatedly. The tool will not function with a low battery, and will shutoff after
5 minutes of inactivity. When the battery is almost dead the red and green lights
and the buzzer will blink and beep three times, then the tool will shut down.
To change the battery:
1. Loosen the screw and remove the battery cover.
2. Remove and properly dispose of the old battery.
3. Align the battery with the battery connector. Install the battery.
4. Close the battery cover securely and tighten the screw. WARNING! Never use
tool without battery cover in place.
OPERATION
This tool is used to determine what circuit breaker in a panel is connected to a
certain electrical outlet/fixture. The transmitter can also be used as a GFCI tester
to determine the condition of an electrical outlet.

Transmitter
1. The transmitter will turn on when plugged into a live outlet. The indicator LEDs
will light in a sequence indicating the outlet's electrical status.
2. To turn off the transmitter, remove it from the outlet.
Receiver
1. Press the power button to turn on the receiver. The tip light will be green and
the tool will beep.
2. Press the power button again to reset the receiver.
3. While tool is on, press the Work Light button to turn on the work light. Press
again to turn off the work light.
4. Press and hold the power button to turn off the receiver. If the work light is
on it will also turn off.
5. The receiver will "sleep" after 5 minutes of no-use. To wake, turn the tool back on.

a qualified electrician if the transmitter and/or receiver indicates the
circuit is not wired correctly.

5. Next, start the scan again to locate the exact breaker to which the transmitter
is attached.
6. Once the breaker is located, the receiver tip will light red and the beeping
speed will increase.
7. To locate another breaker, reset the receiver and repeat all steps.

• If successful, the GFCI breaker will have tripped and cut off power to the outlet.
The GFCI Indicator LED will turn off.
• If unsuccessful, the circuit will remain energized. The GFCI device is not
functioning correctly; contact a qualified electrician.
WARNING
Always consult a qualified electrician.
To test a light socket, use an optional socket-to-AC adapter. To test bare wires,
use an optional alligator clip to outlet adapter.
•Plug the transmitter into the adapter.
•Run the "Locate a Circuit Breaker" steps to find the breaker.
Keep tool clean, dry and free of oil or grease. Use only mild soap and a damp
cloth to clean.

This MILWAUKEE power tool* is warranted to the original purchaser from an authorized MILWAUKEE distributor only to
be free from defects in material and workmanship. Subject to certain exceptions, MILWAUKEE will repair or replace any
part on this power tool which, after examination, is determined by MILWAUKEE to be defective in material or workmanship

will be replaced free of charge.
Warranty Registration is not necessary to obtain the applicable warranty on a MILWAUKEE power tool product. The
manufacturing date of the product will be used to determine the warranty period if no proof of purchase is provided at the

MONTAGE DE L'OUTIL
Remplacement des piles
Utiliser uniquement des piles alcalines. Ne pas utiliser des piles au zinc-charbon.
Si l'outil n'est pas utilisé pour une longue période, retirer les piles en tant que
mesure de protection contre la corrosion. Le voyant de la pointe rouge et le
bruiteur clignoteront et biperont constamment lorsque la pile est faible. L'outil ne
fonctionnera pas si la pile est faible et il s'éteindra après 5 minutes d'inactivité.
Les voyants rouge et vert et le bruiteur clignoteront et biperont trois fois alors
que la pile est presque épuisée avant que l'outil s'éteigne.
Pour changer la pile :
1. Desserrer la vis et retirer le couvercle du compartiment des piles.
2. Retirer la vieille pile et la jeter comme il faut.
3. Aligner la pile sur la borne de la pile. Installer la pile.
4. Bien fermer le couvercle des piles et serrer la vis. AVERTISSEMENT ! Ne
jamais utiliser sans le couvercle des piles sur place.
MANIEMENT
