1. Introduction This user manual serves as a reference for users of the DISCOV-R and should be read in its entirety before operating the DISCOV-R. The term “POC” (Portable Oxygen Concentrator may be used to refer to the DISCOV-R. “Patient” and “User” are used interchangeably. -

4. Battery DISCOV-R comes with an 8-cell lithium ion battery that powers the DISCOV-R with or without an external power supply connected. Fully charge the battery before using the DISCOV-R. Your DISCOV-R may have cartridges inserted into your unit. Cartridges not inserted will arrive in a Mylar bag in the box with your DISCOV-R. You have to insert the cartridges into the unit before using the DISCOV-R. The proper placement and positioning of the nasal cannula in the nose is critical to the consistent operation of the DISCOV-R. The length of the cannula should not exceed 25 feet in length. Tubing lengths greater than 25 feet may impede proper flow. -

Alarms NOTIFICATIONS The DISCOV-R has only one type of alarm (an icon on the display combined with an audible tone): that arises when monitored equipment functions indicate that the user’s attention is required. As long as it is charged or powered the DISCOV-R will operate 24 hours/7 days per week, daytime/ nighttime. However, in order to preserve the life of the POC this type of use should be limited to situations when you are traveling, on vacation, or other short term situations where your primary oxygen source is not immediately available. - Page 22 Dampen a cloth in a mild liquid detergent and water solution at room temperature. In the box for the Discov-R there is no filter. The filter under the cap is bolted in to the cabinet. Does it have a replaceable filter as well?
