To obtain a meter reading for the EDMI GS-60B gas meter, follow these steps:
1. Locate the meter and its display screen. 2. Press and hold the right-hand button for about 2 seconds. 3. Release the button, and the meter reading will appear on the screen. 4. The reading is displayed in cubic meters (m³). 5. Since the reading does not stay visible for long, take a quick note or a photo.
This process ensures you capture the meter reading accurately.

GS-60B Residential Gas Meter - Product Guide 1 Introduction EDMI GS-60B is a SMETS compliant, battery powered, ultrasonic gas meter with smart functionality and wireless communications. Gas flow rate is calculated using a single bounce, speed of sound measurement through a patented ultrasonic measurement technique. From this data, the gas volume flow is determined.
GS-60B Residential Gas Meter - Product Guide 4 Under the Battery Cover Figure 4-1 and 4-2 detail the only supplier serviceable item on the GS-60B – the main battery. The compartment is protected by a tamper evident seal which must be physically broken before allowing access to the cover screws.
Optical Port The optical port connection location is shown in Figure 3-1. The GS-60B uses an IEC1107 compliant optical interface to connect the meter to a PC/Test bench/Portable device using a magnetic optical port read head. Once the meter has left the factory the optical probe is in locked mode and cannot be used. The optical probe can only be used if the meter is unlocked via the secure triage.
GS-60B Residential Gas Meter - Product Guide 7 Battery The GS-60B is fitted with a high capacity lithium thionyl chloride battery. The battery is the main power source during the meter’s lifetime and powers the meter’s internal electronics including physical tamper detection.
9 Pushbuttons & User Interface The GS-60B has two pushbuttons on the front of the meter, allowing installers and end users to interact with the meter. Figure 9-1 shows the positioning and format of the left (Hold to back) and right (Hold to OK).

The screws should be tighten to a force of 0.6 Nm to ensure the IP67 rating of the meter is left intact. Replace the broken black plastic seal with an EDMI marked replacement. This is important to prevent tamper of the device.
