1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read and follow these instructions carefully and com-
pletely in order to ensure safe and proper use.
The instructions must be made available to all persons
who use the product.
Keep for future reference.
Handling
Carefully and completely read and adhere to the product docu-

mentation for the associated test/measuring instrument.
Use the product only for its intended purpose in accordance

with this documentation and the documentation for the associ-
ated test/measuring instrument.
The product may only be used by technically trained persons in

the commercial telecommunications field.
Use the product in undamaged condition only.

Inspect the product before use. Pay particular attention to dam-
age, interrupted insulation or kinked cables.
If the product doesn't function correctly, discontinue use of the

product and dispose of it properly.
If the product is damaged during use, for example if it's

dropped, discontinue use of the product and dispose of it prop-
erly.
If there are any signs of interior damage to the product (e.g.

loose parts in the housing), permanently remove it from opera-
tion and secure it against inadvertent use.
The products and accessories of Gossen Metrawatt GmbH are

designed to ensure optimum compatibility with the Gossen Me-
trawatt GmbH products that are expressly provided for them.
Unless expressly confirmed otherwise in writing by Gossen Me-
trawatt GmbH, they are not intended or suitable for use with
other products.
Route cables in an orderly fashion. Loose, disorderly cables re-

sult in unnecessary danger of tripping and falling.
Operating Conditions
Do not use the product after long periods of storage under unfa-

vorable conditions (e.g. humidity, dust or extreme temperature).
Do not use the product after extraordinary stressing due to

transport.
Do not expose the product to direct sunlight.

Only use the product within the limits specified in the technical

data and operating conditions (ambient conditions, IP protec-
tion code, measuring category etc.).
Measurement Cables and Establishing Contact
Plugging in the measurement cables must not necessitate any

undue force.
Never touch conductive ends.

Avoid short circuits due to incorrectly connected measurement

cables.
Ensure good contact.

2 APPLICATION

2.1 INTENDED USE /
USE FOR INTENDED PURPOSE
Test Adapter Telephone Jack (TAE), hereinafter referred to as prod-
uct, is an adapter set for looping into cables and picking off connec-
tor socket pins (without opening) for the KE7200 network and LAN
cable tester as well as for the ET400, ET720 and ET800 tone send-
ers of the EasyTest system.
Safety of the user, as well as that of the product, is only assured
when it's used for its intended purpose.
2.2 USE FOR OTHER THAN INTENDED PURPOSE
Use of the product for any purposes other than those described in
this supplement, or in the product documentation for the associat-
ed test/measuring instrument, is contrary to use for intended pur-
pose. Use for other than intended purpose may lead to
unpredictable damage!
2.3 REPAIRS AND MODIFICATIONS
Unauthorized modification of the product is prohibited.
2.4 LIABILITY AND GUARANTEE
Liability and guarantee granted by Gossen Metrawatt GmbH com-
plies with the applicable contractual and mandatory legal regula-
tions.
