How to check alternator?
To check the alternator on a Black & Decker BC15BD:
1. Press the alternator check button.
2. Observe the display:
- If the alternator is functioning properly, the LCD screen will indicate it.
- If the alternator is out of the typical voltage range, the fault icon will flash, and the alternator icon ("ALT") and gauge without the pointer will light solid.
3. If needed, wait 4 to 5 minutes before attempting another test.
4. Press the alternator check button again to stop the test.
Note: This check is only for 12-volt systems and may not be accurate for every vehicle make or model.
