Charging the Battery
New lanterns should be left in the sun for 1-2 days to
ensure battery is charged before placing in service.
Please note, lantern will re-charge even when toggle
switch is turned to 'OFF' position.
Preferred Installation Location
For best lantern performance, ensure solar modules
are not covered and are in clear view of the sun
with no shadows.
How to use this template
The template on the reverse side of this document is
intended to enable the correct orientation and hole
positining to effectively secure the Sealite BargeSafe
Solar 2NM.
1. Locate a suitable flat, level surface with a clear
line-of-sight for:
- Passing vessel traffic; and
- Sunlight for charging;
2. Ensure the Pink Centreline
the centreline of the vessel;
3. Ensure Bow is pointing towards the Bow of the
Vessel; and
4. Stern is pointing towards the Stern of the Vessel;
5. Position the template on the level surface on which
the BargeSafe is to be bolted, so a minimum of

3 (three) bolt holes (Black with white cross hairs)
are within the available surface area.

BargeSafe Solar 2NM barge light may be suitable

on vessels of 12 meters or more
but less than 50 meters

an angle of 135°.
