Do not place the unit near or on any type of heat source, such as a gas or electric burner, stove, or oven, even if not on. Do not use near an open flame or flammable materials.
  • Page 6 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS WARNING: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.
  • Page 7 To disconnect the appliance, grasp the plug and remove it from the outlet. Never use the product if the power cord shows signs of abrasion or excessive wear. Contact Chefman® Customer Support for additional guidance and support. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE FIRST USE. Remove all packaging materials, such as plastic bags and stickers. Ensure you have all parts and accessories before discarding the packaging. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp, lint-free cloth. Wash the carafe, reusable filter, and filter holder in warm, soapy water.
  • Page 10 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS HOW TO BREW COFFEE Fill the water tank with fresh cold water. The water level should not exceed the MAX marking on the water gauge window. Place the carafe with its lid closed on the heating plate, making sure it’s fully seated in the coffee maker.
  • Page 11 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS When brewing ends, the water gauge will show the water reservoir is empty, but it will take another minute or two for all of the coffee to drip into the carafe. CAUTION: The coffee maker becomes very hot during the brew cycle. Please handle with extreme care. The heating plate will continue to keep the coffee hot as long as the coffee maker is on (unless the Boil Dry feature is triggered;...

    SPECIAL FEATURES PAUSE-AND-SERVE If you wish to pour a cup while the brew cycle is running, you can remove the carafe from the plate and the coffee drip will pause for up to 30 seconds. After pouring, return the carafe to the unit, being sure it’s fully seated on the heating plate.
  • Page 13 CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Allow the coffee maker to cool completely before cleaning. Raise the brewing chamber lid and lift the filter holder out. Remove and discard the used coffee grounds and the paper filter, if using. Wash the carafe, carafe lid, reusable filter, scoop, and filter holder in hot, sudsy water.

    CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE HOW TO DECALCIFY YOUR COFFEE MAKER Calcium buildup frequently occurs in drip coffee makers. This buildup is normal and is caused by minerals commonly found in drinking water. We recommend decalcifying your coffee maker four times a year, and more often as needed.
