The purpose of safety symbols is to attract your attention to possible dangers. The safety symbols and the explanations with them deserve your careful attention and understanding. The symbol warnings do not, by themselves, eliminate any danger.
The instructions and warnings they give are no substitutes for proper accident prevention measures.
Be sure to read and understand all safety instructions in this Operator's Manual, including all safety alert symbols such as "DANGER," "WARNING," and "CAUTION" before using this tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious personal injury.
SAFETY ALERT SYMBOL: Indicates DANGER, WARNING, or CAUTION. May be used in conjunction with other symbols or pictographs.
The operation of any power tools can result in foreign objects being thrown into your eyes, which can result in severe eye damage. Before beginning power tool operation, always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields and a full face shield when needed. We recommend a Wide Vision Safety Mask for use over eyeglasses or standard safety glasses with side shields.

Do not allow familiarity with this product to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury.
Always wear eye protection with side shields, along with hearing protection. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes and other possible serious injuries.
To prevent accidental starting that could cause serious personal injury, always remove the battery pack from the tool when assembling parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use.
Do not use any attachments or accessories not recommended by EGOTM. The use of attachments or accessories not recommended can result in serious personal injury.
Before each use, inspect the entire product for damaged, missing, or loose parts, such as screws, nuts, bolts, caps, etc. Tighten securely all fasteners and caps and do not operate this product until all missing or damaged parts are replaced.
The product may be used in rain.
Use only with the battery packs and chargers listed in Fig. A
Charge before first use
(Fig. B & C & D)
With aligned logo respectively on the plug and the hedge trimmer, insert the plug into the hedge trimmer until the green seal completely disappearing into the socket. Mount the battery cord into the "U" hook.
(Fig. E)
Release the battery cord from the "U" hook and pull the plug out of the hedge trimmer.
Before operating, remove the shield and hold the trimmer with both hands, one hand on the rear handle and the other on the front handle. Then check for balanced footing, correct posture and a proper cutting distance.
Always keep both hands on the hedge trimmer handles. Never hold shrubs with one hand and operate the hedge trimmer with the other. Failure to heed this warning may result in serious injury.
When stopping the hedge trimmer, switch the lock-off button to passion "OFF" before remove the battery pack. Failure to follow this warning may cause serious injury.
Push the lock-off button to position "ON" (Fig. F) and then press the rear switch level. With rear switch level pressed, continue pressing the front switch lever to start.
Fig. F parts description see below:
F-1 | Lock-off Button |
F-2 | Rear Switch Lever |
Release either of the switch levers to stop it and switch the lock-off button to position "OFF" to prevent accidental start.
NOTICE: Both switch levers need to be pressed for the hedge trimmer to start.
With the blade away from you, hold the trimmer with two hands, separately grasping the front and the rear handle. Three holding directions can suit for different cutting operations (Fig. G & H & I).
If the blade jams on any electrical cord or line, DO NOT TOUCH THE BLADE! IT CAN BECOME ELECTRICALLY LIVE AND VERY DANGEROUS. Continue to hold the hedge trimmer by the insulated rear handle or lay it down and away from you in a safe manner. Disconnect the electrical service to the damaged line or cord before attempting to free the blade from the line or cord. Failure to heed this warning will result in serious personal injury or possible death.
To prevent serious personal injury, keep hands away from blades. Do not attempt to remove cut material or hold material to be cut when the blades are moving. Make sure that the blades have totally stopped and the battery pack is removed before clearing jammed material from blades. Do not grasp the exposed cutting blades or cutting edges when picking up or holding the unit.
Clear the area to be cut before each use. Remove all objects, such as cords, lights, wire, or string which can become entangled in the cutting blade and create a risk of serious personal injury.
Avoid trimming too much at one time or through the heavy shrubbery. This can cause the blades to bind and slow, reducing the cutting efficiency.
NOTICE: For new growth, a wide sweeping is suitable for the stems fed directly into the cutting blade. For older growth, a sawing movement is good for trimming the thicker stems. A non-powered hand saw or pruning saw is suggested for trimming the large stems first.
Use a wide sweeping motion. A slight downward tilt of the cutting blades in the direction of motion gives the best cutting results. For better cutting effect, you might as well use the string to guide the hedge level as Fig. J shown.
When trimming the sides of the hedge, begin at the bottom and cut upwards as Fig. K shown.
The tip protector (Fig. L) is used to protect the outer end of the blade.
The outer part of the blades is shaped as blade guards (Fig. M).
Fig. M parts description see below:
M-1 | Blade |
M-2 | Blade Guard |
Always check that the blade guard is not damaged or distorted. Replace it if it is bent or damaged.
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. To ensure safety and reliability, all repairs should be performed by a qualified service technician.
To avoid serious personal injury, always remove the battery pack from the product when cleaning or performing any maintenance.
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents. Use clean clothes to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
NOTICE: Do not operate your hedge trimmer with dull or damaged cutting blades. This may cause overload and will give unsatisfactory cutting results.
NOTICE: A normal metal file is not applicable to sharpen AHB6500/AHB7500 special blade.
NOTICE: When use a low-speed grinder (Rotate speed<2500 min-1) to sharpen cutting blade, keep watering the blade teeth continuously during grinding.
Do not lubricate while the hedge trimmer is still connected with battery or running.
For best operation and longer blade life, lubricate the hedge trimmer blade with light weight machine oil before and after each use.
Remove the battery pack and lay the trimmer onto a flat surface. Apply the oil along the edge of the top blade (Fig. N).
For best operation and longer lifetime, lubricate the hedge trimmer gear case with a special grease (5-6g in #1 and 10-12g in #2 each time) after every 50 hours operation. The special grease should meet the following requirements.
Remove the battery plug and the two sealing screws (Fig. O). Lubricating the gear case through the oil-hole.
NOTICE: Don't fully fill the gear case with grease.
Blades are sharp. When handling the blade assembly, wear non-slip, heavy-duty protective gloves. Do not place your hand or fingers between blades or in any position where they could get pinched or cut. NEVER touch blades or service the unit with battery pack installed.
