The Cali76 Stacked Edition is a dual-stage FET
compressor, based on two UREI
connected in series and optimised for guitar.
1. GET CONNECTED
INSTR: Plug in your guitar or other instrument.
AMP: Connect to your amp or other effects pedals.
9-18VDC: Insert a 9-18VDC 2.1mm centre-negative
power supply (minimum 100mA). For best perfor-
mance, the pedal should be powered from an 18V
supply for additional headroom.
2. CONTROLS
IN: Turning clockwise will increase gain and the
amount of compression applied.
ATT/REL 1: This control adjusts the attack and
release characteristics of the first compression stage.
For example, slow attack and fast release will accentu-
ate the start of each note, resulting in a classic snappy
sound.
ATT/REL 2: This control adjusts the attack and re-
lease characteristics of the second compression stage.
For example, a fast attack and slow release smooth
out the dynamics of Stage 1 for a full, sustaining sound.
THRU: This control sets the level of signal fed from
the output of the first compressor to the input of the
second compressor. Turning clockwise will increase
compression. Balancing this control with the IN knob
will determine how hard each stage is compressing.
OUT: This control determines the level of the signal
present at the pedal's output.
Each compression stage has its ratio preset at 4:1.

DRY: This control adds some dry, uncompressed
signal at the pedal's output, mixing your dry signal in
parallel with the compressed signal. Fully clockwise,
this control adds 8.5dB of boost, with unity gain at the
2 o'clock position.
3. METERING
The two LEDs either side of the jewel light will
illuminate as each stage compresses. The greater the
amount of compression, the brighter the LED.
4. SAMPLE SETTINGS
STACKED COMPRESSION: Each compressor is
setup for a different task; the first gently evening out
dynamics and the second clamping down and limiting
peaks.
