5.2 Flat Sheet Filter: Connecting the Tube Set to
the Filter and the Tube Interface Block
Procedure
NOTICE Leaks due to loose compression fittings!

When connecting | disconnecting tubing on the product, make sure
t
to only handle the Luer Lock ring part (1) of the connector.
Do not twist the threaded compression fittings (2).
t
If the threaded compression fitting gets accidentally undone, screw it
t
back on by hand and tighten as much as possible.
Engage the Luer fittings into the corresponding ports of the filter and | or
t
the tube interface block:
Screw in the Luer Lock rings (1) on the Luer fittings.
t
Ensure the Luer fittings are engaged in the corresponding ports on
t
the filter and | or the tube interface block, and tighten the Luer Lock
rings.
The tubes are labeled "RET", "PERM" and "FEED". Ensure to connect the
t
correct tube to the correct port on the filter and on the tube interface
block.
For some filters: Use the Female Luer to Luer Lock connectors if re-
t
quired.
Blank off the unused permeate port on the filter (at the bottom).
t
For some filters, it might be easier to first connect one end of the tube
t
set to the filter (on the bench).
Then, place the filter in the holder before connecting the other end of
t
the tube set to the tube interface block.
Clip the tube interface block onto the side of the holder using the mag-
t
nets provided.
The inserted adapter should look like this:
